Sarah Brandt is shattered when she learns that a woman has inquired at Hope’s Daughters Mission for Catherine, the abandoned child she has taken as her daughter. The woman claims she was Catherine’s nursemaid, now acting on behalf of the girl’s mother to reunite them.

Finally after 15 books a certain thing happens that we've all been waiting for. The mystery was easy to figure out but I didn't care because I'm so happy about the other development. I liked that we discovered a lot about Catherine's background. Any time this series puts the focus on its recurring characters it's a real treat for me. I'm looking forward to reading the next book.

My favorite book of the series!

Spoiler I can't believe we are finally, finally, going to experience Malloy and Sarah together as a couple. This has been such torture the last 15 books. I especially loved how prevalent the Deckers were involved in this installment. I look forward to more adventures.

1000% the best and my favorite book in the series!!!

The books are just in fine little cozy mysteries. But this is exactly what I have been waiting forever!!!

One of favorite tropes of procedurals is when a partner/ or someone close to the people solving crimes gets kidnapped. In fiction, I find it’s the best way to see the characters’ the affection they have for the missing people. (Still I wish either Frank or Sarah would be one of the kidnapped victims, and it was great to it happened to Catherine! I loved seeing the flooding of everyone’s emotions about her being gone, including Frank’s. And of course, how happy they were with her safe return. )

FINALLY!!
I love slow burn romance so I was thrilled to see how organically they fell in love. They kissed!!!! And are now Engaged ❤️❤️

Take away: A great ending. (Just a bit too long.)
Narration: Suzanne Toren - I am very used to Ms. Toren now. When the narrator changed, I was resistant.
Normal Speed - Accelerated Speed (set at 1.05 for another book on the app)
New  - Second - Third - Committed
Series - Non Series - Non-Fiction - Author
Listening to this book was a chore.
I'm glad I listened to this book.
I didn't want this book to end.
I could not wait to be done with this book.
Average, but better than anything I've written.
