how did this book recieve awards? i cant explain how annoying it is, the plot talks about covid more than killers, im giving it 2☆ just because the cover is nice...

Stephen King knows how to engage you and keep you reading even if what he is telling is gruesome. I really enjoy Holly as a character and this instance has been great.
Here it's not important who the killers are, you learn that in almost the first scene but why and how and King gets all nuanced building believeable characters that you can not relate, because what they do is so wrong but at least you can see their logic. The story is a complex sociological examination of the time of the pandemic in America and it doesn't look very pretty.

Overall this book was great. Like alot of stephen king (that im noticing) is filler in the middle. Besides that the crime and the perp and overall story was great, i love Holly but she felt different in this. Im not sure if that was to show her character aging or what but she felt different, not necessarily in a bad or good way.
