I like this ending better than the first. Excited to read the next book and can’t wait for the show to start

This book pissed me off so badly. I loved the first one and was super excited to see where they would take the story. There's a god of hate and death in a shed and someone has to save the world with a bunch of occult references and cool worldbuilding, that's so cool! In the sequel, though, there's much less development, and much less building of the world, it just felt like reading a very matter of fact retelling of people walking around and figuring some stuff out followed by random bursts of extreme violence. The pacing of this was really weird too, 3/4ths of this book is spent literally between characters just talking and then the last
IS JUST THE AUTHOR KILLING EVERY FUCKING CHARACTER LIKE JESUS CHRIST MAN, AND LIKE HALF OF THEM SEEM SO RANDOM ITS TOO MUCH AND NOW EACH OF THEIR DEATHS MEAN NOTHING THE IMPACT IS WAY LESSER
I liked some of the tie backs to the first book and the continuation of the story, and that there was some further building of the world but man the ending pisses me off. I'm sure that when the next one comes out it will make more sense but from where I'm standing I just feel annoyed and confused I guess. The characters also feel much less developed in general too, I was really hoping for some more meaningful development in Venus and a few other characters, most of the time they just felt flat.
