Such a beautiful story, I've been always intrigued by it and reading it in a young-adult form was great. I have to say I'm not the most fan of war stories in general but this one was good.

I really wanted to loveee this book, I thought it would have me screaming and crying. It didn’t. It was just fine.

I really love Greek mythology so was excited to pick this book up. I did enjoy it and the ending was beautiful but I feel it was a little much for me there was so much detail that sometimes I forgot what was happening because it had taken so long to describe one thing. I’m not saying that’s bad I’m just not used to it so it was a little much for me. Overall I did enjoy the story

The only reason I didn’t DNF was because I truly wanted to love it- but damn was it dull.
Also the main character? Get a grip.

It took me a while to get into this book, like more than half the book, I wasn't getting all the hype. My twelve year old self obsessed with greek mythology was really disappointed with my present self.

I was bored even when they went to war, maybe because everything is written by Patroclus and I didn't really like him until much later (or maybe because I have a goldfish memory and there are so many names of kings and heroes I kept forgetting). By the time Briseis shows up it got a little bit more interesting for me, but I was only fully committed when the beef between Achilles and Agamemnon started to get hot. The last few chapters had me in a chokehold, especially the last 4 ones had me screaming in my head the entire time (now the twelve year old me was proud).

I just have to say that the 2004 Troy movie did us dirty by having Achilles and Patroclus being cousins instead of lovers. And I really hate Pyrrhus.
