I recieved this book as an arc for my honest review.

I really enjoyed this book! This book is exactly how the title sounds, some deadly trials!

This book follows a group that is in the trials. Leah, Cassian her brother, Aeron who they meet on the way to the trials, and Sebastian who they met inside the trials. Winning the trials gives you access to the Neforian Abyss which has different levels you can earn access to. Each person gets a lovely story explaining how they got into the trials and why they are there!
I loved the world building in this book and how unique each character is. Leah is a pretty hard headed girl, Cassian is such a sweetheart, Aeron has a bit of a big head on him but seeing how he reacts to Leah definitely warms you up to him, and our poor Sebastian finally just wants his own independence and to be accepted! I highly recommend this book

I am so privileged to ARC read this book. While the plot was not the most tense, the characters were gut wrenching and overall so beautiful. Each of their developments were so much fun to read. I would definitely say the strongest part of this book was the characters and you can tell she put a lot of work into each and everyone of them.

Hi! Lorelei here. Thank you so much for looking into my book baby. Deadly Trials is near and dear to my heart, and I hope you enjoy. I thought I’d pop on and write a content guide real quick. If I missed something or you have any questions, you can reach me on Instagram at @reading_instead_of_sleeping.

I personally rank this as upper ya. The characters range from 18-23 but the story itself is pretty young. Nothing that is mentioned below is put in a glorifying manner.

Sexual: mention of rape

Violence: It can be pretty gory, and there are instances of domestic abuse. People are murdered. One character almost drowns.

Language: none that I’m aware.

Other: there is suicidal ideation and the mention of using drugs and alcohol to dim the emotional pain of a character. There is a panic attack scene. Deadly Trials does have magic in a sense but it isn’t witchcraft.
