Was this a work of art that should be read for centuries, or a cringy fanfic written by an 11 year old?

Totally tragic...I mean, finding true love and then dying because of a family feud? It's so sad. But I do love Romeo's and Juliet's devotion to each other.

It's been a while, so I re-read this as a bit of reference / education (admittedly for something else). While I'm not sold on Romeo and Juliet actually being in love so quickly -- or if they even understand the concept fully, being so young -- but the writing in this play is so beautiful, which is what makes this story worthwhile for me.

forget everyone else, shakespeare is the best. i hate when people reduce r&j to the greatest love story of all time, because it's not, it's the horniest love story of all time. beautiful.
