Tolle Reihe, ich mag wie sich alles entwickelt und ich bin noch mehr gespannt wer es am Ende sein wird. Ich befürchte man wird hier geschickt von der Spur gebracht.
Auch wie es zwischen Levi und Dominic läuft finde ich sehr authentisch. Nichts wird hier einfach gemacht, sowie das Leben manchmal ist.

This was good but painful. The first like 25% or so was super sweet. I loved Levi's parents meeting Dominic (his parents are so cute. Both their families are perfect, really) and

saying "I love you," for the first time, and all of that. But as soon as Dominic relapsed I could just feel everything start to spiral for the rest of the book, and it was ROUGH. And that scene where Dominic tries to hurt Levi so he'll leave because he has to go back and do more gambling!!! And in the end when he's gambling again and Levi punches him. LOTS OF ANGST, although I'm looking forward to them reconciling, so I imagine it'll be worth it in the end. I also liked seeing Levi possibly going to get real therapy (although I'm suspicious because tbh I've suspected Natasha of being the killer since the first book, which could be way off base, but nothing that's happened has dissuaded me of this theory yet). And I liked seeing Dominic relapse (as painful as it may have been) because it felt realistic that being put in a situation like that would have him faltering.eviecanread's review against another edition

⭐ 2.5 - spoilers ahead!
the seven of spades murder is just getting dragged out, and i know we're not gonna find out who it is in the next book, either, and it will follow the same boring plot of levi and dominic working on two different that suddenly have something to do with each other and they work together and seven of spades is forgotten every now and then and then we get to the last chapter and boom seven of spades is back. UGH. nothing pushes the actual case everyone is here for forward until the very last moment. and when we get to the next book, there's a time skip and again the pattern is repeated. it feels like nothing happens in these books until the last chapter.
i also hate the way the author keeps describing people and recalling past events the same way, as if it's all just copy-pasted from the previous book, as if the reader isn't capable of remembering that levi has nightmares after they've been told about it 10 times.
dominic and levi's relationship was annoying, too. not that they spent any time together, either, and when they did, it was only to have angry sex or beat each other up in lieu of "resolving the tension". like, you two need better coping mechanisms and a therapist to go work on your anger management issues before you enter any relationships, clearly, and i'm glad levi is finally doing that. also, dominic is just an asshole and crossed a few too many lines for me to just want him and levi to get back together. you're gonna say it's because of his addiction blah blah blah. but when we get to his pov, we can see, read, tell that he's well aware of what he's saying to levi and what he's thinking when he takes jabs at him, and then levi is being stupid and sucks his dick and that's really it. i hope he dies idgaf

Again, not a standalone read...do not start the series here. Enjoying the story, however, it was at 31% of this book that I added a note with my thoughts on who is the Seven of Spades.
I don't have much else written for this book but I am enjoying the series.
