Took my a while to get this one finished - I got bored in the middle and it rambled a lot. I do enjoy the murder mysteries for the adventure - not so much the drama.

I think I keep reading because Molly keeps collection wonderfully interesting friends.

I like Molly a lot. I also like Bowen's attention to historical detail. But good gods, I am so over Daniel Sullivan, to the point that my dislike of his character interferes with my enjoyment of an otherwise fun read. Am I the only one who secretly was hoping he'd die in jail before she could get him out? Because...that would be okay.

Not sure why I picked this book up many years ago and even more unsure why I started with book five out of the series. Finally got around to reading this book in the Molly Murphy series and am a bit sorry that I waited so long. Set in New York during the early 1900's, the book features Molly Murphy who is an appealing, feisty, and stubborn heroine. Look forward to reading more in the series someday.

I'm enjoying the character development of this series which I came into at book 4. Will have to go back and start at the beginning.

This one took on a pretty serious tone but was better written than the last couple I read. While coincidental, the story was still pretty good. Plus, arrogant Daniel got knocked down a few notches...not such a bad thing. Trigger warning: the story deals with abortion and the loss of a child.
