Humorous unconventional futurist military squadron that somehow always ends up on top under Phule's leadership.

Хорошая подростковая литература. Помимо всего прочего это как бы учебник по менеджменту, очень упрощенный, но вполне передающий смысл для подростка. Английский очень простой, имитируются разные стили речи, но все это очень простым набором слов и очень нарочито.

This is just too funny! Asprin had a way of making the nonsensical seem inevitable.

This is a classic comedy and one of my favorite sci-fi books, bar none. Willard Phule, in disgrace from screwing up a major command, is punished by being sent to play captain to the worst bunch of misfits in the Space Legion. What his superiors don't realize is that Phule has a knack for seeing the strengths in even the strangest of outcasts. With a little help from his trusted butler Beeker, and his vast fortune at his fingertips, Phule is able to turn the dregs of the Omega Company into a fighting force that few can stand against - but can he do it in time to stop the latest alien threat?

I liked it. This was a light, stress-free book. No endless descriptions of fights, just a smart character solving problems. That makes it sound boring, but it wasn't.

ETA: My brother was in a reading slump and didn't want a "stressful" book. No complicated world-building to stretch his mind, gory battles, etc. So I recommended this book and he like it quite a bit and texted me for the sequels. Which I easily got 'cause I have 15 library cards.
