Let's start out by saying that Christine Feehan is one of my favourite authors.

Gedeon 'Player' Lazaroff is a member of Torepedo Ink, and we know like all the rest his past has lead him to be the rough, tough, trauma filled man. He's running out of time and he needs rest before he decides what to do. Incomes Zyah who seduces Player with every word and move. They spend a night together that is pure and honest yet Player believes it was all a dream.

I enjoyed the overall story like with the painting and break ins and actually found it was the more interesting part of the book. Anat is one of the best characters in the whole series and her relationships with the other members of Torepedo Ink, in particular Destroyer and Savage. I really appreciated and enjoyed that we got to understand more about Destroyer and Alena. I hope we get his story.

The romance between Zyah and Player was weirdly one of my least favourite things about this story. It just wasnt clicking like the others. It was a good story and different from the others. What I did think was great was the Hannah Drake and Jonas Harrington scenes. They are two of my favourite characters within in this world and it was great to have them back. It was also great to see the surprising friendship blossoming between Player and Hannah.

Admittedly this book took me longer than the others but it did make me cry which is always a possibility with this world.

4.5 I enjoyed their story and chemistry. Ending felt a bit rushed. But I REALLY LOVED seeing old characters from the Drake Sister series!! Loved seeing them interact with this series characters and it feeling natural.

Loved reading this book, these two were so great to read about, and it was a relief after the issues I had with the previous book.

Player is suffering from side effects of his gifts - and the symptoms read suspiciously like Feehan read a bit about a rare condition called Alice In Wonderland Syndrome and incorporated it into the book without actually acknowledging that it is a real condition. Whenever I find literature that does this it reads as lazy and ableist. Name the syndrome in the book and give it some acknowledgement, or else don't use it.

Otherwise, the book was very mild for the series. The decision to protect SeaHaven instead of continuing with the elusive Ghost group Intel that is so hard to come by felt a bit out of character - but I can understand protecting the area. that said I felt that the book dragged quite a bit and that both story lines could have easily been Incorporated for a stronger plot line. It was a nice shift to have the main female character b whole and not in need of anything from the main male character in order to go about their life. A nice shift to have someone who is  depicted as complete on her own, and only wanting love instead of needing something from him.

In terms of 🌶️🌶️🌶️ - it was pretty mild for Feehan and was vanilla, esp compared to the kink in the previous book.

I like this series of books but sometimes I wonder where the books are headed so that we can see the rest of the brothers and sisters get into relationships. I also feel that by the end of the book Player still has a problem that I'm guessing is a long term effect of his abilities that won't go away. I'm also wondering if like there's some kind of origin story for people with these special abilities, IDK, I'm just kind of brain farting right now.

Reckless Road continues the story of the men of Torpedo Ink. I love this series and was excited for this entry. Player hasn't been a huge focus before and I was interested in his story. His psychic talent is fascinating and Reckless Road blends every element about the club I have come to love!

There are parallel plots to Reckless road: old people are being beaten and robbed and the club has stepped in to protect a few; Player's illusions are creating a dangerous alternate reality that could kill everyone. The love story follows both plots and is woven in perfectly. I loved Player and Zyah. Zyah is very grounded and far too kind to everyone. She cares so deeply about people, and she has her own gifts. She thought Player was her soulmate, but then he crushed her. Player loved Zyah from the moment they met, but he pushed her away because he was in danger. God save us all from men who think they know what's best.

Reckless Road is a long book at 480 pages, but it never felt long to me. Its scorching hot, danger filled, and touchingly romantic. Readers who enjoy a touch of the mystical in their romance will delight in Reckless Road and its unique love story.

This book reverted back to the stupidity of the first book and lost all the progress it had been making with the previous three books. The plot line was meandering, the introduction was closed door, and I swear the author repeated the full title Alice's Adventures in Wonderland like 18 times. Perhaps it's a copyright issue but stating the full title felt very robotic and unauthentic. I skimmed this book and I was bored to tears. Nothing made sense, the chemistry felt disingenuous, and it's a major plummet from it's previous installments. I could have applauded the attempt of a POC heroine but her ethnicity felt fetishized where her belly dancing took precedence over her personality and character development. I'm thankful I only borrow these digitally from the library because I pity whoever wasted their money on this book. The other bikers were passable, but the inclusion of physic powers for a contemporary motorcycle club series is a ridiculous concept. Every one of her series includes telepathy and I thought this perhaps might be the one that omits that fictional talent. I'll keep reading this series but only because I like to edit in Pee Wee Herman for my monthly IG wrap ups. Eat my dust!

"Came in begging us to look at the security tape after the part. Wanted to see if his dream girl was real."

This was unfortunately disappointing.
I love the series so much and I guess I created such high expectations each time and I got disappointed this time.

Why I found this unlikable compared to the others, I find the plotline very slow and dull.
It felt like there wasn't much going on. Half of the book we were in Zyah's room and the thing going on in Player's head made up like 10% of the ending only.
When I felt like it could be so much more.
I didn't get the romance I wanted, it was popping in here and there.

I do still enjoy the dark fantasy paranormal of the book.
I love seeing more personality, humour and teasing among the other characters.
More dialogue and scenes which only made me want Christine Feehan to write everyone's storyline.
Especially Preacher and Destroyer.

He flashed her a smile. He'd been told more than once he had a 'killer ' smile and could melt the panties off a woman if he tried. He was trying now."
