I'm so glad I had this entire series before I started reading. That was one crazy ride and an insane cliffhanger. I love this author so much. The story was amazing and definitely my kind of book.

I read it for a certain purpose but the dialogue was not great. For the amount of intimate scenes, a lot of things were repeated/ rushed in their descriptions. I did not like the “plot” but it did serve a purpose.

This one really grabs you from the first page. Tatum is 18 and goes to her sisters apartment that she shares with Kane the H . He is ready to End it with her sister after a few years living together. Tatum and Jameson aka Kane are attracted to each other. They do the deed, her sister comes home which leads to Tatum leaving town dropping out of college etc. she winds up as a bartender 8 Years later. She and Kane cross paths at a catering event and he manipulates her life so that she becomes his toy. She likes his wicked degrading ways to an extent but sometimes he makes it personal and angst ensues. On to book 2

Honestly, this entire book was something else for me. Trust me, I've read a lot of fanfic and a lot of smutty ones, so I know exactly how dirty words can be especially in books like this, but somehow, I also had to take some time off of this book because WOW.

It was a real cliche beginning of Tate fucking her sister's boyfriend and then she was kicked out of the family, this forced her to become independent and know how to find her own person and be herself. Kane finds her again and soon they dwell into this weird sort of relationship where they aren't really friends but they fall into this sort of comfortable relationship where they fuck and have conversations with really good sex that is actually really violent. The sex is really violent and it's sometimes concerning how Tate is still in good shape, especially after some of the things that they do. It does remind me of a very toxic relationship, so do what you will with that information but it is supposed to give off that "sexy and dark" vibe and it does that well.

This was my first "adult" book ever and man, it did not disappoint. I really liked Tate's character, I think that she was refreshing and a really nice character but Kane was the problem for me. I could not get behind him or his behavior which is like playboy millionaire, but still. Have some respect for people, man. Overall, it was a strong start and I would def read the next books :)
