It absolutely pains me to give this such a low rating.

I LOVED [bc:Rule|17200687|Rule (Marked Men, #1)|Jay Crownover|https://d202m5krfqbpi5.cloudfront.net/books/1357012113s/17200687.jpg|23675925] and it sits firmly on my favorites shelf & I recommended it to all my friends.

But the story telling here, for me, fell way off the mark.

I felt like I was being told everything instead of experiencing it and so never really connected with either character.

And the repetition! Dear lord the repetition!!!
If i heard once more why Jet was wrong for her or the whiskey colour of her eyes & her long legs, or Adam's sweater vests or or or or or............ aaarrrrggghhhhhhh!!!! SO frustrating.
It had me skimming a lot of the book which I really didn't want to do.

Anywho....that's that.

I did like Jet, he was a cool guy with a sweet heart :)

Here's hoping [bc:Rome|17798233|Rome (Marked Men, #3)|Jay Crownover|https://d202m5krfqbpi5.cloudfront.net/books/1378491674s/17798233.jpg|24897193] gets this series back on track for me.

Ayden & Jet seem to be from two completely different worlds, who would have thought they could be so good together? The questions is if they can escape their both their pasts long enough to make it work.

This was a great continuation of the series. Ayden was such a strong friends for Shaw in Rule but Jet remained quite the mysterious Rock God. It was soo nice to see different sides to him and to see Ayden develop more as a character. They were hot together, I loved their chemistry and the softer sweeter side of Jet reserved only for Ayden. I can't wait until Rome comes out!

"Jet" is the second book in the "Marked Men" series by Jay Crownover and I enjoyed this sequel just a teeny tiny bit more than I did "Rule". Maybe it was the lead male character...I felt Jet was more grounded and had a better head on his shoulders than Rule. The thing was, I found myself not liking Ayden as much as I did in the first book... Maybe it was because she was the poster girl for self-sabotage or how she had this whole "new Ayden" and "old Ayden" thing. Luckily, she bounced back near the end of the book so she didn't slide too far down the likability scale.

The characters in these two books seem to have family issues up the wazoo. All of it made me think of the saying "Tell me who your friends are and I'll tell you who you are" and how it couldn't be any truer for this group of friends. I know Rome's the next in line in the series and while I still have my fingers crossed for Nash's story, it seems that Rowdy had his own share of secrets just waiting to be told so I'm definitely looking forward to reading his own story soon.

There were far fewer grammatical and typographical errors in "Jet" as compared to "Rule" so with that in mind, I'm giving "Jet" 4.5 stars out of five, rounding the rating off to five because Goodreads still doesn't allow halfsies. Hehe.
