A month later and I've already forgotten what happened in this novella. Probably a sign of the impact that this book made on me - it was fine I guess. A little overstuffed in the end which annoyed me. First half was ok so giving this an overall 2 stars.

I mean I could rant but I wont ... however,
Spoiler then again, this book had one of the most stupid sex scenes ever. Our couple our out in the winter (!!!) and then suddenly decide to lay down on the path - on a cloak - and have sex. I know they are supposed to be overcome by their passion - but WINTER!! Cold!! Foreplay is not enough to ward off the cold!

I want this magic cloak that can keep the cold in abeyance while being on the crown, under a person, who has "disrobed". Must be magic!!

And then there was the couple's fight -

I did want more, this should so have been a full length novel. I like her writing and the characters were fun.

Crispin, our Duke, has some woman issues in his past (he was an ass it seems). But since I have not read the previous books I could not be that mad. He seemed nice and reformed.

Gwen, she was nice, she loved her sisters, and she had an incident in her past. Men can be such fools!

They meet, with a BANG! Since it is a novella things does progress fast. But I could see the attraction, even if they acted upon it very fast.

A nice holiday novella with a HEA.

Short novella on the second-oldest Prim sister, Gwen, who we first met in book one. It's short and fast without a lot of conflict or depth, but despite that, both characters are well-painted and touching. I always like a fast romance where no one is dissembling or keeping quiet. What a fun Christmas read.

This book is a classic regency romance. The heroine starts out brash and impulsive and the hero starts out as a rake but when they meet each other he is redeemed and she has found someone who she can be her sassy self with who also makes her happy. This read was pleasant and quick; it kept me engaged and entertained. Anyone who is a fan on regency romance and Christmas should definitely read this book.

Kratka, slatka i savršena romantična novela. Volim ljubavne priče obavijene Božićnom čarolijom, tako da je za mene, ova priča pun pogodak.

Louisa’s sister, Gwen, finds her match in this novella. She just doesn’t know it at first.

Crispin, Duke of Hurst, is visiting his uncle when he spies a young girl sitting underneath a tree. Since it’s close to Christmas, and presumably chilly, he walks over to talk to her and discovers that she has injured herself falling out of a tree trying to pick holly to decorate her home. While he’s trying to get the girl on his horse, Gwen (it’s one of her younger sisters he’s helping) comes along, believes that he’s up to dastardly deeds and proceeds to whack him with her basket.

Though this is a novella, Grey deftly adds notes about time passing so this isn’t quite a fall-in-love-at-first-sight-marry-soon-after novel. Nice addition to the series.

In a word? Adorable!

These characters instantly pulled me into this gorgeous tale of England and left me breathless! I love an odd meeting and these two meet in such an incredulous way that I could not help but laugh.

The duke actually has a past that many people know about. He is known to be a rogue but Gwen does not know him. She suspects that he is trying to take her sister and pegs him as even worse than a rogue and smacks him upside the head! You know the reader, and the characters, are in for it when they meet like this.

True to their meeting, they are both incredulous but so adoring. Gwen looks after her sisters and puts their happiness before her own, while Crispin loves his family.

The way the plot continued, I just wanted more. Sadly there is a bit of an excerpt to the next book, so this ends at 87% on the kindle. I was devastated to know I was at the end of their story! But excited that this is just a novella in a series.

I will definitely read more in this series. It's delightful!

Received by publisher, through Netgalley, in exchange for an honest review.
