This started off pretty good. I chuckled along with the antics but bit by bit it lost me (25%). The way it is written jumps all over the place like a teen diary.
The characters seem like they are out of Beverley hills 90210. I guess I thought it was going to be more adult. These are not my people lol

I decided to read this book because I've read many positive reviews about it. So I picked it up and yes, I was laughing at first, Caroline's monologues were funny and the cat and eveything BUT after some time I got tired. I was curious to see how their relatonship would evolve since they were pretending to be friends. Unfortunately, I stopped laughing because their cheesy, tasteless conversations and remarkes started annoying me. This book turned into one of those terrible chit-lits, I mean, there are pages with only sms texts on them, for pity's sake! I started rolling my eyes, it is as if this book was written by a 15-year-old! The characters are childlish and irritating.

Loved this book. It had romance, sex and it was so funny. Simon is banging Caroline 's wall keeping her awake. What follows is hilarious. Can't wait for the next book.

Funny, but could have used a bit of revising. Good start (the girl giving the guy's different female visitors funny names), but then it unraveled in some places. Here were a few problems I had that might have been solved by an editor with a firmer hand: The sections in the format of text messages were sometimes confusing, in that it was easy to lose track of who was saying what. Then in the last few chapters it became one short gratuitous (sex) scene after the other, like snippets, and honestly, it felt a little lazy. A little transitioning would have been nice. Also, after the resolution of the story's conflict ("the case of the missing O"), I didn't really see the point in having several more scenes. On the kitchen counter. In the shower. In the bathtub. On the bed. Etc. I pretty much scanned through these parts (Oh, they're doing it again) and hoped something else would happen, that, Oh I don't know, could move the story along? The last section from the POV of the cat was cute, but as an ending I'm not sure if it was the strongest. I felt it lacked something in the end to tie it all together.
Another thing is that the comedy in the sexy parts doesn't always work, and sometimes ruins the mood. I'm all for a bit of laughter and talking during sexytaym, but sometimes you just need to shut up and concentrate, you know? The teasing banter sometimes goes on for too long that it becomes absurd and corny. I felt like a third wheel, hanging around with such a disgustingly cutesy couple. I mean, sure, in real life, this might be the silly kind of stuff you toss around with your beau when it's just the two of you, but too much of this in book form could make a reader impatient.
I will say though: the descriptions of the food and scenery in Spain were well done. If the author trimmed the bloated dialogue and focused on crafting more of those exquisite passages, then this would have been a 3-star book for me.

Man, I paid $9 for this and I hate to not finish it but I just can’t!
So I picked up this book because I kept coming across it when searching for certain things. It kept coming up on lists for books with things I like in a romance: humor, witty characters, steamy sex, dirty talk, etc. Lies! These are lies….
Humor… yeah in the overly cheesy roll your eyes and not even laughing out loud kind of way. So yeah, not the kind of humor I like. It was just too much. SUPER cheesy sexual innuendoes that can’t even be contributed to the sexual tension between the characters. Oh and food porn humor? Apparently this guy with a six pack can eat an entire loaf of zucchini bread and whatever other desserts she makes up for him nearly every day. And it’s all so “sexy”… or so we’re told. What is sexy about zucchini bread? Nothing. Seriously. Nothing. The kind of humor I like? Sarcasm, witty and clever banter, well-placed awkward situations with the characters having priceless reactions. Not this. So not this.
Witty Characters… No, not really. Try mental characters instead. These peeps make no sense. They are too fluffy and happy and boring and not interesting in the least. Caroline is like a 12 year old in a 26 year olds body with the way she acts. Her friends are no better and they sound like seriously the strangest looking group of people: Caroline - hot and sexy (her own words) and blonde, Sophie - a redhead that is 6’ tall? (Seriously), and Mimi - tiny Asian woman who loves huge guys that have to pick her up to kiss her. Wha? Seriously? It’s just like the author had to be politically correct and include every body type here. Then there’s Simon, who started off a mysterious guy and I was intrigued by him… until we meet him. He’s so lame and boring. He’s kind of a pussy to be honest (or should I say he’s a “Lower Caroline”). He doesn’t seem to have a masculine bone in his body. I just can’t. He’s not interesting to me at all and it doesn’t take much to peak my interest (I can go for any hero from aholes to rakes to the boy or even vampire next door).
And as for the hot sex and dirty talk. It’s not happening. I know I DNF the book but their first close encounter is Caroline blabbing on about how her “O” might be coming out of hiding because “she’s” (her “O”) is so turned on. O is what she calls her orgasm, which she personifies likes it’s a being (more on that later). And so I decided to cheat. I searched the book for several words I would consider would be used during dirty talk. Nope. None. Why was this in a list for having dirty talk? More like cheesy talk…
Okay I’m sure I could rant on and on, but I’ll say just one more thing… What’s up with all the personification of all of her body parts and functions? It’s so weird and distracting and downright cheesy… “Brain”, “Heart”, “O”, “Lower Caroline”. Oh come on, seriously? Lower Caroline? Just say pussy or nothing at all would be better! Lol She seriously sounds like a mental case referring to all of her body parts and functions as if they are old friends/enemies. *eyeroll* Oh and speaking of being a mental case she also has entire (detailed) back and forth conversations with herself in the mirror, referring to her reflection as “Mirror Caroline”. Gah! Just no.
So if you’re looking for a super cheesy and really lame romance that involves irritating characters who are in their late 20’s but act like they are 12 then this is perfect for you! If not, well I can’t say I personally recommend it and I don’t appreciate that it had to be $9 for the kindle version when most books of this genre are at most $4.99 or on Kindle Unlimited. What a waste…

Loved this book! Second only to the Seduction and Snacks series, this is my favorite romantic comedy this year! Between Spanx, Purina and Giggler, this read provided lots of LOLs. And Clive! I love him! Such attitude and personality! This book made for a great pick-me-up from several angsty books I've been reading lately. Pick it up for a good laugh!

If I could write a novel, then I would hope and pray that it would be something much like 'Wallbanger'. I just absolutely loved it and devoured the whole thing in one three-hour sitting.
Loved Simon as a sexy, rugged, amazing hero. Loved Caroline as our sassy, beautiful leading lady. The supporting cast were great, the plot amazingly simple and yet so compelling and the writing style so funny and engaging and just wonderfully done. I laughed my way though the whole novel, and though sometimes the humour was a very purposeful pun/joke, there was also this wonderfully witty banter and subtlety that ran throughout.
I was given an Amazon voucher for my birthday and have just blown the whole £50 on the back catalogue of Alice Clayton.
I would recommend to all!

Al principio me costo seguir con la lectura y no abandonarla en las primeras 20 páginas, una vez que avanzó la historia me gustó la dinámica entre Simon y Caroline pero aun así hubo cosas que no me convencieron.
