It was so funny, one of the best things Jessica Prince does is write fantastic friendship dynamics.
Lots of other woman drama.

Jessica Prince is steadily becoming one of my all time favorite authors.

This book made me smile so hard my cheeks hurt, and I love that! When I wasn't smiling, I was giggling and that's pretty fantastic.

I totally have a thing for cops in the real world, so Derrick was right up my alley! Chloe is a spunky little baker that made me really want to go buy some damn cupcakes and meet her. She is someone (along with her bff Harlow) that I would LOVE to have as friends in the real world. *sigh* if only.

Jessica did a fabulous job of bringing the heat and the drama. If you want a not-so-traditional romance novel, this one is for you.

This is why I sign up to promote and read/review books! This was my very first Jessica Prince book and I'm so glad that Southern Belle Book Blog introduced me to her! Holy crapola you guys, this book was amazing, and sweet, and just plain perfection!

I don't even know where to begin - Derrick is just pure man meat amazingness #swoon. He's just the kind of guy I think we all want and need in our lives... he's stubborn, protective, and a great father figure. I really enjoyed seeing this romance blossom between him and Chloe. Now, I'd not read the story called Wildflower where you apparently first meet these two lovebirds... but I don't feel like I was missing anything in their story (although I plan to go back and read it now). Its the perfect little small town romance - easily pictured as a cute Hallmark movie! (:

While the romance seemed kind of quick in a way, it worked well for their relationship and with his being a father and having an ex-wife. There is a certain maturity that comes in that situation, that when you date someone, you have to be serious kind of quick and matter of fact... you can't just play around. (Although that seemed to be his MO prior to Chloe.. it was nice to see him settle back and develop some feelings for her). They remind me a little of my husband and I... once we got going it got steamy real quick and was a deep relationship. Not just that surface stuff you see in most books. I felt there connection, and it's strong. I really enjoyed the pacing of the story, though I've seen other reviews who thought it went too quick.

This book made me laugh out loud, it made me tear up and it made me fall in love with these characters! I can't wait to read more!! Jessica Prince has just been added to my list of authors to insta-buy from! Amazing!

Chloe Delaney has everything she could dream about, she owns her own bakery and has wonderful friends who support her. She also has a huge crush on Derrick Anderson, a cop and single father who she thought might be interested in her until she realizes he doesn't really see her as anything but a kind of a friend. Chloe decides she is done and moving on but then Derrick decides he is interested but not in the same way. Chloe wants a relationship, Derrick just wants her in his bed for how long he doesn't know. With an ex wife who has him regretting the day he married her even if it brought him the greatest joy in his life, his daughter. Derrick knows he can't be in a relationship again, but everything about Chloe is different could he be wrong about having a second chance at love?

This was wonderful. Chloe is sweet and adorable and Derrick for awhile is just clueless about Chloe's feelings and at times makes it worse then it needs to be where her heart is concerned. Great story to get swept away with. I can't wait to read more of this talented authors books.

I loved this book so friggin much I am so sad it's over. If you haven't read Wildflower I highly recommend it, not because you'd be lost in this book without having read it, but simply because these characters are everything. The best friends, Harlow and Noah, are so well portrayed as the best friends you want in your corner as you take on this crazy world. The only characters you hate are the ones you're suppose to hate because you're rooting for Derrick to finally open his big beautiful hazel eyes and see Chloe's the one.
Eliza is the sweetest little girl ever & Derrick is the best dad. Nothing hotter than a swoon worthy leading fellow who is a loving dad. Just saying.
Chloe was adorable, funny, and feisty and is very relatable in her awkwardness and love of treats. I love the leading lady to feel real and like someone I would be friends with.
The relationship wasn't fast and I loved that. It made when they finally got their sense knocked into them even better and worth the wait! There was plenty of drama with the deadbeat "mom" but not so overdone that you roll your eyes & just say alright already. The only alright already was waiting for her to get what she so deserved.
Overall this story was beautifully told. It had me swooning and laughing and getting teary eyed at the punch you in the gut emotions that that sweet little nine year old will pull from you if you are a mother yourself.
5 beautiful sweet sunshine stars. And side note*** I can't wait for Eliza's story!!

This is the first book from this author because it was recommended to me on Facebook (love those book groups!). I requested a theme of unrequited love and this book was one of them. Normally if I do not know an author I don't really give it a chance (going to stop doing that!). I am so glad I did, I really enjoyed this book!

I really like books set in a small town with a quirky heroine and an alpha male, normally I really like them in law enforcement and this fitted that to a "T." It was really sweet once Derrick realized being in love is not such a bad thing. It was sweet but still pretty hot once they finally got together! I loooove those alpha men! However I do need to be honest and say it was a bit painful to read through how much Chloe loved Derrick and it wasn't reciprocated... twice! And when he still went on another date with someone else, gah that was painful!

But all in all it was a great HEA, I've already downloaded 3 other books of hers so gotta get reading!
