Rescuing Lord Inglewood is a charming regency romance with a great marriage of convenience trope. The Esther and Silas are both relatable characters. I love the unique beginning to their romance and the history they had with one another. I would recommend this book to all of my friends and family who love sweet regency romances!

Thank you to the author for access to the audiobook through BookSprout.

This was a unique story.

At first, I was a bit turned off by how Esther seemed so intent on believing that Silas wanted nothing to do with her when he was so kind and attentive to her. Her perceptions of his intentions were wrong every single time and she had moments of irritating immaturity. However, I think the author did a good job of explaining Esther’s past and the trauma she endured. Esther and Silas’ story was a good reminder that trauma can cause you to view people and their actions / intentions in a very skewed way. I appreciated how patient Silas was with her and how he tried his best to prove his allegiance to her even when he failed at it.

This was a sweet romance that I really enjoyed although some of the darker topics seemed to take over quite a bit of the plot and I wish there had been a bit less focus on “other things” outside of the relationship. I thoroughly enjoyed the characters and their journey and the story was unique. Plus, marriage of convenience is a favorite trope of mine, and it was done really well here as we got to watch these characters figure out what they meant to each other and how they would navigate their new circumstances.

Esther is forced to marry the distant Silas, who is a friend of her brother's. Silas is distant and leaves Esther to her own devices. Another man tries to insinuate himself into her heart, but thankfully Esther is true to vows and convictions.

Will Silas realize what he has in Esther?

Really solid first book in a series that promising to keep you engaged. All of Sally's books are sweet romances with solid characters who navigate complicated themes.

Very short period chaste romance. There were so many times that I felt like characters or events were underdeveloped and glossed over. The snarly neighbor who was easily dismissed and really didn’t add anything to the plot. A week of courtship glossed over in two sentences? Missed opportunity for a romance novel. Most of all, though, I could not get behind Esther the main character. After the first chapter which started her out so well, all her actions were childish and uncommunicative.
