I liked the tv show featuring Enola Holmes and liked this story.
Note: I prefer my Holmes stories to be more canon-wise but Enola is an interesting and likeable character and I like her.
It's an entertaining and riveting story, fast paced and easy to read.
There're some disturbing descriptions of aslyum but there's also plenty of humor.
Recommended.
Many thanks to the publisher and Netgalley for this ARC, all opinions are mine

I was very satisfied by the ending of The Case of the Gypsy Goodbye and was holding off on reading The Black Barouche, worrying that it would feel forced.

My dear reader it did not. I enjoyed every moment of this novel, and in particular found that the involvement of Sherlock and Watson (and Tewky) only served to make the story all the more enjoyable.

I appreciated the change in tone regarding feminity compared to the previous books. Enola enjoying femininity but not feeling a slave to the expectations of her gender was something that I felt was relatable and really finished rounding out her character for me.

Something that I love about this series is the historical aspect and the way that period issues are included in the story rather than being shied away from. It's something I very rarely see in children's/ teen lit so I continue to adore it in each book.

I can't wait for Enola Holmes and the Elegant Escapade! May she once again cause Sherlock great annoyance and affection in equal measure.

Now I have to purchase the rest of the series because this was right up my alley. All I can say is that I enjoyed this book. I’m glad that I received this arc.

It was really lovely to get to read about Enola again, and I enjoyed it! I don’t know how much else there is to say, but as per usual it was very sweet and just nice! I am always reminded that it is a children’s series, but that doesn’t make it any less good.
It was a very enjoyable book and I was happy to read it!
