I am impressed with how well developed the characters were in this story despite its short length. Reactions and decisions of each characters seemed well thought out, and it managed to explore a range of topics relating to one sweet lifetime love story. 2018 Book Riot's Read Harder Challenge

When I tell you I bawled at the end there. Does suffer from being a little underdeveloped, but the art style is vivid and the author did well with the tropes.

I felt like this story could have benefited from four extra pages: two pages more of when they just got together and it never worked and an additional two the time they reunited. I felt like the pacing was good within the story between outside of those points but they got together, confessed their love, were ripped apart all in less than 24hrs and that just was too fast after the buildup was so gentle. And then it happened again, like those two points happened too fast (literally and figuratively) and I think just two additional pages would have totally fixed the pace there. The art work and colors were absolutely magnificent I thoroughly enjoyed it and I also enjoyed the story, I just felt it needed juuuust a few more pages to even out the pacing. Definitely a graphic novel I intend to physically own.

Very sweet, quick read with beautiful, fun art. I wish it had gone more in-depth. Grandmas in love!

A very sweet and nice cartooned tale of two teenage women who fall in love in the 1960's only to be abruptly separated and then reunited decades later. There's not a lot of depth here (although the book does take some pains to discuss the dissolution of one woman's marriage), but I'm not sure depth was a goal.
However, I found it absolutely frustrating that some (minor) plot points were shunted off into spin off titles and advertised in the book. For example, there's a critical discussion between a main character and her husband. At one point, the husband has a revelation to disclose, but instead of appearing in the graphic novel, there's an asterisk leading to a footnote that the revelation can be found in a digitally released story. Ick.
