**Most of my reviews contain detailed CW/TW sections, which may include spoilers.  I have tried to mark them appropriately, but please use caution.**

ebook

4.25/5

Summary: King of the bathroom quickie and MC enforcer, Diesel, finally gives in to club-princess, Jewel, and their mutual attraction. Big bad MMC, feisty but not totally bratty FMC.

Stats: CR/MC, M/F, Wide open door (leaning towards some power play/BDSM). Part of a series, should be read (mostly) in order.

Notes: Enjoyed it more than I had before, which seems to be a trend when I speed read things (maybe familiarity? or just not getting bogged down in things?).

OTT and Spoilery Content Warnings (CW) and Trigger Warnings (TW):
violence, threats of SA, discussion of SA/rape, alcohol

Ok, I am going to say it Diesel is my favorite.

I can’t help it he is just soo yummy, he and Jewel just work. I loved that she was so, go with the flow but also that she stuck with her guns about somethings. She wants what she wants and is willing to fight for it but give Diesel what he needs. Only I think he figured out his needs were a lot more “needy” they even he would have ever thought. Haha

It really is great to see an Alpha male fall hard for their woman. It makes the story so interesting that you can’t put it down.

100% love that I was expecting one thing only for it to not happen; it was a relief to not be able to predict the way a story is going to go and just enjoy the ride.

Let's talk narrators, I have been a fan of Wen’s for a long time and when I heard him as Diesel I was sunk in all the good ways. He just has that voice that works for this gruff MC enforcer. Ava lordy bee; the woman can make each heroine unique and have their own voices. I loved that so much. Sometimes when the same narrator does a whole series the books all seem to blend but I can tell you that is not the case with this one. I am loving 'em and can’t wait for the next installment.

The Beast!!
These characters were awesome. They fought, they tried the avoidance, but the chemistry was just too explosive. Once you are mc through and through....you find that HEA!!!

It's no secret that Jewel is looking to be an ol' lady. She was raised in the club and that is the life she wants. Diesel is the guy she wants. That's not really a secret either. Like Ivy, she can be a raging bitch to him but since I don't like Diesel this is fine with me. Bitch more. Asshole deserves it.
If only he didn't enjoy it so much.
Diesel is the club enforcer, doesn't want any woman regularly in his life and as I said, is an asshole. While I like the guys in the series a lot overall, hot alpha males etc... I find that they sometimes come across as so fragile in their masculinity, with all those rules they have about what a guy does. If you have to define manhood so rigidly you can't be a passenger while a woman drives you are not really a man at all IMO. Diesel is one of these.
Anyway he wants nothing to do with a regular woman but he's happy to keeping banging Jewel & then leaving her bed as long as she'll let him and because she is a woman in love she let him for far too long. Oh, he eventually has that "MINE!" epiphany the others have but I never got the sense of love from it, just possession.
The overall story with the rival gang & the club president is why there are 3 stars.
