I read this on kindle unlimited so you know it’s not going to be anything too groundbreaking. It’s definitely cute though. In the beginning anyway. I didn’t connect too much with any of the characters, they’re all pretty surface level and don’t give too much so it’s hard to connect or feel anything real for them. There’s definitely some cute moments and the banter throughout is good, amongst all the characters. One of the issues I have with it is how face paced it is. The MMC & FMC are in love within 4 weeks. I didn’t understand or believe the dark past story line and how convenient it was that Gage is a millionaire and also a ruthless bad boy and has a mob boss come after him. Once all that came into play I was pretty much done and basically just finished it for the sake of finishing it.

I really struggled to rate this book because while I did enjoy it for the most part, I feel like it had the potential to be SO MUCH MORE. It just felt a little underdeveloped, but that being said I did love the characters, I just wish it made a little more sense.

This book was actually so good! It’s a fast paced small town romance that had me kicking my feet in the air! Definitely a sweet and steamy read.
I really enjoyed the plot and going through Blythes thought process on what she wants to do with her future career and the internal battles she has. It’s very relatable to me since I was in the same position. I also really loved how much she cared and supported her family.
The relationship between Gage and Blythe was pretty fast but I actually didn’t mind it at all. It definitely worked really well with the storyline and how fast everything played out. All of her brother warrens friends treated Blythe and her best friend so well and it was really nice to see them treat her like a sister…. Except Gage of course. I will say the last bit of the book I felt was a bit rushed and just really threw you into a loop of Gages past life and didn’t give much context on why his father wouldn’t represent Reynolds in court so it just kind of got a bit confusing in that part. But overall i think it was a great book and I can’t wait to read the next book!

This is Lainey Lawsons debut novel and she did a wonderful job!
I adore cowboy romances. When I see a cowboy romance I will download/sign up immediately for it.
Blythe was such a fun character! She was confident, sassy and determined. She knew what she wanted in a career and went for it. That same confidence and drive for what she wants was the same when she met Gage, her brothers broody/grumpy bunkmate.
Gage is everything you want in a cowboy. He is broody, grumpy yet he is also protective and will do anything to protect those he loves or who he considers family. Gage is serious and he is quiet about his past that he is running from.
This is an insta-love book. Gage and Blythe have instant chemistry with each other. I love how their relationship blossoms and grows. Blythe pushes Gage out of his comfort zone with her confidence (The belt scene and shower scene live rent free in my head).
The only thing I wasn't expecting or the biggest fan of was the plot twist but at the same time it was still kind of fun to see how they all came together.
I can't wait to read Lainey's next books and get Warrens story!
I did receive this book as an ARC from Sunnybabepr in exchange for my honest review.
