This was almost a DNF for me because Logan could be a real jerk and I wasn't too fond of Des. But I thought the romantic ending made the whole thing worthwhile. I think I'll try the next book after all.

You have Deseree, who is an actress and Logan who is a surly rancher. She seems to be as sweet as he is grumpy. I liked Dese's character. I thought she was very straight-forward and easy going. I'm not sure I understand what she saw in Logan at first other than smokin' hot. The steamy parts of the story were definitely steamy, but I thought some of the plot was a bit boring. Some of the dialogue was a bit silly as well I thought. Overall, a good read, but it felt like some of the plot didn't flesh out the way that it could have. The first book in this series had a bit of suspense in it, but this book didn't have any suspense at all. Maybe I was looking for some of that while I was reading this book. I have read quite a few books by this author, so it could also be that I need to start looking at other authors as well. I normally read a lot of her Play by Play series (sports romance).

I liked this one, but not as much as the first in the series. Although it's the same style of story, I really didn't like Des or Logan all that much, and found them to be both superficial characters (both when they were together, and separately). Logan is basically a good-looking jerk through most of this book, and I'm not convinced Des couldn't have done better.

Although the overall idea of a city girl moving to a ranch in the middle of nowhere really reminded me of [a:Ree Drummond|2884275|Ree Drummond|https://d.gr-assets.com/authors/1449627854p2/2884275.jpg] from the Pioneer Woman cookbooks :)

Maybe they grow into each other a bit more as we seen them in the other books in this series.

I very much liked this book. I loved the relationship between Logan and Des. They both had stuff to work through and I think it was dealt with perfectly. The way they gave and took was very realistic without being boring. I love all of Jaci's books!

I really like this series. The first book Hope Flames was my introduction to Jaci Burton and let's just say I have found a new author to add to my favorites list. She makes the characters and places so real. Be forewarned book hangovers will happen with her Hope series. Logan was just as I thought when I met him in the first book rugged, handsome, stubborn, hot! I loved Des's honesty the most, how she always layed it out on the table. I can't wait to read the next book!

My only beef about this book was that the main male lead left a lot of character to be developed. I feel like I don't know much about Logan other than that he's a rough cattle rancher who can't commit. It was an easy read and a good read for by the pool for sure! Book 1 in the Hope series was decidedly better but we'll see what Book 3 brings in a few months when it releases!

a really great story, but honestly could Logan been any more of an ass?
