Good info. Some of it is a bit whitewashed, manwashed, and still uses "Indians," so keep that in mind...

Práctico recopilatorio de conocimientos básicos de cultura general como historia, literatura, arte, ciencia, música, filosofía y religión en cómodas dosis diarias. El único problema que le encuentro es que es difícil recordar tantos datos interesantes más allá de unos pocos días.

I started my day every morning reading one of the entries. It was very fun to get a taste of different knowledge every day.

I usually review every book I read on my on book blog, but I didn't get around to it with this book.

I read this book over the course of a year. It's designed to be a daily reading in the sense that Biblical devotionals are, hence the title.

I learned a great deal I didn't know, remembered some things I had forgotten, and really enjoyed this book. I took off a star because I did find some grammar/usage errors. The most common was using "lead" as the past tense form of the verb "to lead," which should actually be "led." Maybe others won't notice, but it's a pet peeve, and it did decrease my enjoyment. I particularly found the philosophy and science interesting. I would recommend this book to anyone looking to learn a little bit each day.

It was meant to be a daily read and I had to return it to the library. I might purchase it so I can finish it.

Too Western-centric and not nuanced enough. I know the point is to be a bit of a "taster" of each subject, but it was too high level for what I'm looking for. Also the claim that it will enable the reader to "roam confidently with the cultured class" is incredibly classist and turned me off quickly.

A wonderfully diverse collection of knowledge which I tried desperately to read one item at a time. However life gets in the way and I just finished it wholesale. To that end, it seemed redundant in places with significant emphasis on philosophers, musicians, and WWII. Still, that may have just been the second half of the book...and as it's designed to be read one item at a time, it might not actually be that way. Anyway, this promises to be a decent series of books.
