I loved this book. It was so good that it only took me 3 days to read it. Once again, James
Patterson wrote a book that reels you in and keeps you hanging.

Considering that I had no real expectations of this book I was pleasantly surprised. I really enjoyed the constant action, the fast pace and the humour which was weaved in throughout the story.
My one small issue was the lack of explanation of how the dystopia became to be. I found it to be a little implausible that the whole world changes (supposedly by people voting for corrupted leaders I think) and yet the characters seemed surprised, even oblivious to what was occurring.
Overall I thought this was a great book and a really fast read with a well thought out concept. The characters were lovable, the humour was perfect and their relationships were lovely to read about.

So I sorta had high hopes for this book. It's always been one I thought about reading but never did. Well, I checked it out from the library. It started off pretty good. Starting with the characters current situation and then taking us back to when it all started. The idea of the story is good. The writting is aweful. Not good. I dont know about you, but I like to read descriptions and see what makes the characters tick. Patterson and his little writting buddy didnt provide this at all. All the chapters were only a couple pages long of some rambling and dialogue and provided nothing for me to grab on to. The new Harry Potter? Yeah right. Don't think so. I've never read a James Patterson book, but this little nuggut makes me wonder if all his books are written in this half assed way of nothing but shifting points of view and on going dialogue that I feel doesn't present any kind of plot developement.

Honestly, this book wasn't for me. I have tried again to pick up this book for 10 years and it was hard to get through with an audiobook. My mom and I decided to read this together and she enjoyed the book and is continuing on to the next in the series. I however, will not.

The choice of language is reminiscent of an adult trying to act like a child. The language and choice of words wasn't very believable to come from a teenage girl.

The plot was great. I love the dystopian back drop of the novel. It's great they travel to different levels of reality. I just wished there was more time spent with Wisty developing her powers. By the end at about 80% she seems to have mastered her powers and it kind of threw me off.

The last part of the book was more engaging than the rest of the novel. At 90% of the way through I was intent on listening. I feel like the book lacked depth. We as the audience needed to be more invested in the characters.

Very YA, but fast and an interesting concept.
