A very helpful resource. It combines science, personal story, action items and a bit of humor to paint the picture that being kind to yourself can help you move mountains. Definitely in my top 5 books right now that I would recommend to anyone.

Would love to see an updated edition of this book. The information on weight felt dated to me.

This book is one I will revisit in text format so that I can absorb the tips and information better than I do with audiobook alone.

For all the people pleasers out there, this is for you!! If you haven’t heard of Kristen Neff before I suggest you listen to her many available podcasts and talks she has given.

This is a wonderful journal to use to help guide you to be more self aware and to be okay with being more kind to yourself. Life is hard and if we make a mistake we must be self compassionate with ourselves, because unfortunately in this world not many people will provide that with you.

It is to be worked over time and I will continuously keep redoing and working on this. Best money I have ever spent on a book!

I really appreciated this book. I felt like it got a little long/redundant toward the middle, but at it's core was helpful. Learning about the three components of self-compassion, self-kindness, mindfulness, and shared humanity, was very helpful.

I’m usually a quick reader. Even with the work around a book club book I may like to complete, I found this one changing from exciting to starting to having some resistance to reading. I liked the topic of this book and I’m glad that I have read it. Self-compassion isn’t something that I’ve practised for myself but is something I will give and encourage others to practice. There are techniques within this book that I’d like to continue doing. However, I found that I was struggling to read the book with the number of exercises woven within each chapter. I think I may have related to them better if they were at the end of the chapter. Or some within and the others at the end of the section or the book. Even with that said, the exercises made me pause and reflect on how I was treating myself. I believe I did more meditation during reading this than I had before, even with a meditation goal. I loved the author’s own story and showing how it can work in the everyday.
