Slow burning, real characters and situations, emotional...must read. I loved Roommate Arrangement by Saxon James. It was in parts real and raw, and it made you laugh too.
If you are looking for something that is instant, that gives you a lot of fluff, this isn't the book. But you don't need it. You are in this with them and the story pulls you in with the wit, the characters, and the plot. This book is a must read. 4.5 stars and I suggest you one-click today.

I listened to the audiobook to see if romance still makes me cringe when read out loud and yes! but also... I kinda enjoyed the embarrassment? idk, new kink maybe lol
Beau is still a cutie cute and Payne... I actually started to care about him. The cadence of the audiobook narrator gave me a different perspective on him and although he still needs to get his shit together I have to give him credit on the fact that he already fuckin knows this and he's very much trying.
I will upgrade to 4 stars. I have a mean inner voice and sometimes I get distracted and loose my impartiality when reading and start using this bitchy inner me making the characters tone change dramatically. With plot driven books this is not an issue since I can control myself better, with character driven books... not so much. I will work hard to improve myself in this xD

How did I go from abduction and mafia bosses to the most fluffest books? Oh wait, my previous read had a fluffy mafia boss so I guess that was the transition book lol
So, 3 Beau stars. This sweet cinnamon roll is the most perfect fictional person to ever exist. Payne was meh, I like him because Beau like him. I ship them because that makes Beau happy... otherwise, he really needs to get his shit together.

Instantly fall in love with this adorkable couple!!!
The trope is sooo good, but what enchanted me about this book was the characters. They are authentic, true, without being egocentric. they leave room for each other to confirm or confront their feelings, their uncertainties, even their own values. As I said, the story is really interesting. But the dynamics between the characters are incredibly to overcome and evolve by supporting each other.

If I'm being honest, the beginning of this story confused me. Between Payne's divorce, Beau's crush, and the chaos of their living situation, there was a lot going on, and I couldn't wrap my head around any of it. I wasn't connecting with Payne, Beau's eccentricities tipped the scales from cute to uncomfortable, and the awkwardness of their attraction was overwhelming. I thought about leaving their book unfinished a couple of times, but I'm so glad I didn't because Payne and Beau won me over in the second half. The progression of their relationship was far from conventional, but I grew to love that about them. Beau and Payne showed their love in ways I wasn't expecting--with paper cranes and late night coloring sessions and thoughtful conversations about dragons jumping off buildings. Their journey was so uniquely them: fascinating and unexpected but utterly adorable once I gave it a chance. Though Payne insisted he wasn't relationship material, he treated Beau the way I'd want any boyfriend to treat me. I won't pretend that Beau ever started making sense to me, but I loved that Payne took all of his quirkiness in stride and even seemed to love him more for it. Their physical connection was off-the-charts, and in the time they spent together I could tell that they understood each other on a deeper level. I do wish it hadn't taken Payne so long to realize what he felt for Beau was more than a rebound fling, but luckily Beau was patient enough to wait for him to realize what everyone else had already figured out. I don't think this story needed the DMC chats to sell me on Payne's mixed feelings, but seeing Payne get to celebrate with a great group of guys at the end was a sweet way to tie off his character arc.

“Nothing friendlier than a suck and fuck.”
My first dive into the Divorced Men Club, and I didn’t leave disappointed. May not be my favorite book by the author but it had all the humor and lightheartedness that I come to expect from books in this universe. Payne and Beau just seem to work since Payne sees Beau as a good dude without needing to change. On Beau’s part we just see a dude who has had a die hard crush on Payne for like 20 years so yeah. There really isn’t any emotional stuff in this book and it’s more just an easy fun read with lots of laugh and some good spice. Can’t complain about that.
