Well, how can i say that ? It was a waste of time for me...

The story could've been so much better. The idea was so badly exploited, it was disappointing, I expected much better.

Everything was going to fast. The characters were not developed as they should have been throughout the story and they fell in love within a second, i just can't cope with that!

Dnf. I knew I had to lower my expectations for a wattpad book, but even then, I didn’t expect it to be so bad

2.5 stars. Great potential, sadly it was wasted. The entire first book sets up a great premise for the world they’re in. However it then just turns into back and forth between Gabriel and Caden, with no clear story or plot line. If Gabriel had of died at the end of this book, I may have read the second. But more back and forth between unlikeable characters is not for me.
Sorry

What I liked best about this post-pandemic dystopian story is that it was mostly non-paranormal (i.e. no Walking Dead-esk zombies, no Stephen King-esk “devil comes to earth”, and no alien invasion. It tracks closer to a Hunger Games tone. The heroine is stubborn and cunning and doing her best to survive. It’s got a little taste of everything- a quest, a romance, creepy antagonists, battles, and brawls. It was a nice lightweight weekend read.

i’m so beyond confused on the timeline of the story. i feel like months had passed at the beginning of a chapter without any rhyme or reason.

This book is an absolute gem in the world of young adult dystopian fiction! From the very first page, I was completely captivated by the vividly drawn characters and the intricately crafted world they inhabit.

The two lead characters, a likable and relatable young woman and man, stole my heart from the start. Their strengths and vulnerabilities, as well as their growth throughout the story, were portrayed with such authenticity that I felt as if I knew them personally. Watching them face and overcome seemingly insurmountable obstacles was nothing short of exhilarating.

And the slow-burn love story? Oh, it was beautifully done. It was refreshing to witness a romance that wasn't rushed, but rather, built upon a foundation of trust, respect, and shared experiences. Their connection was palpable, and every stolen glance and tender moment had my heart racing.

What truly sets this book apart, though, is the world-building. The author's ability to create a dystopian society that felt so chillingly real was nothing short of remarkable. The attention to detail, from the societal structures to the day-to-day struggles, painted a vivid and haunting picture of a world on the brink.

I found myself completely immersed in this world, unable to put the book down, eagerly turning page after page to see what would happen next. The pacing was perfect, keeping me on the edge of my seat with each twist and turn.

In short, this book is a triumph. It's a story that lingers long after the final page is turned, leaving you with a mix of awe, hope, and a touch of heartache. If you're a fan of dystopian fiction, rich character development, and a slow-burn romance that will sweep you off your feet, this book is an absolute must-read. Bravo to the author for creating such a masterpiece!

This ARC was provided to me by the publisher via NetGalley for an honest review.

Oh. Em. Gee. I haven’t read a post apocalyptic book that good in a really really long time.

After losing her mother and sister to the plague that killed all women in the world, and large majority of the men, Ara becomes separated from her father and must complete his quest of finding a cure for the plague. But being the last woman alive, she finds herself held captive by a clan of men who hold her against her will “for her protection”. *trigger warning for violence and attempted sexual assault*

Holy Shiznit, this book was so good. It was captivating and held your eyes to the pages because you just HAD to find out what happens next. It was action packed and an amazing enemies to lovers trope. You fall in love with all the characters and so many morally grey characters throughout the book. I can’t believe I read this so early and now I have to wait FOREVER for the next one to come out!!!!

The setting and premise were intriguing. I was not a fan of the insta-love and the cheesy dialogue. The male and female main characters were decently fleshed out but it felt like only the male character developed.
