Millie Cooper is the daughter of a poor fisherman, who flees from the East Coast, a failed engagement to Stephen Drexel, the youngest son of well to do people.

She ends up in the town of Glenwood Springs, Colorado; where she works with the local doctor as his very capable nurse.

Who should show up in town, the rich Drexel family; whose matriarch is suffering from a severe lung condition. The man she was engaged to, Stephen's wife is very pregnant. The older brother John is looking for a nurse to take care of both of the women. If there was anyone else he could ask, he would.

Millie doesn't want to go take care of the two women, she is perfectly happy, where she is. She prays over it and decides that God is leading her to be their nurse.

Read the book to find out where it goes. I'd highly recommend this book.

The latest offering in the ‘My Heart Belongs’ series (each book is a stand-alone) is Jepson’s debut novel, and what a swoony debut it is! Romantic tension simmers throughout, sometimes sparking into flame and even an occasional inferno. (That first kiss – whew!) This tension is electrified even further by the emotional love triangle – a woman who has made a fresh life for herself, the man she almost married and the brother who kept them apart, all unexpectedly reunited in close quarters. Broody John Drexel is delightfully Darcy-ish, his brother Stephen much more congenial but also lackadaisical. And in the middle is Millie Cooper – a strong protagonist with whom readers will quickly empathize and for whom they will root for a happily-ever-after. Deep emotions, a bit of humor and a dose or two of tragedy nicely complement the plot, and the character transformation throughout is inspiring. While some of the dialogue is a bit stilted, this is easily overlooked in the midst of all the positives.

This was a super cute read! It put me in a mind of one of my all-time favorite movies Sabrina. It has a similar storyline which made Millie and John's story irresistible to me. The ending was phenomenal and had one of the best scenes I have read lately and the way some of the other ends were tied up was perfect. This book has great characters, humorous scenes and I adored it. Definitely one for my keeper shelf!

My Heart Belongs in Glenwood Springs, Colorado is a historical fiction novel by author Rebecca Jepson. The setting is Glenwood Springs, Colorado: late 1800’s.
Millie Cooper, the heroine, is the nurse of her ex-boyfriend’s wife and mother. She remembered her training as a nurse when quizzed but could she remember when her skills were needed?
John Drexel, the hero, was the one who kept Millie and his brother, Stephen, from getting married so many years ago. Now Stephen is married to a high society girl and Millie is her nurse.
I believe the author wrote this novel so the reader could see how God can bring good out of our trials. I wanted to read this book because I like the My Heart Belongs... series. It was a sad thing to lose Florence, the wife, to Typhoid Fever. However, It was remarkable how the high society family pulled together with the staff.
I liked this quote spoken by the preacher, ‘Marriage is a sacred institution, a covenant ordained by our gracious Lord. In it we find that mystery, that unfathomable union between Christ and His Church.’
This book had me eagerly reading from the beginning to the end. Lots of twists and turns. I recommend this book to fans of the ‘My Heart Belongs’ series.

FTC DISCLAIMER: I RECEIVED AN E-ARC FROM THE PUBLISHER THROUGH NET GALLEY. I VOLUNTARILY OFFER MY HONEST REVIEW OF THE BOOK, THOUGH IT IS NOT EXPECTED OF ME! RECEIPT OF THIS BOOK IN THIS MANNER DOES NOT AFFECT MY OPINION OF THE BOOK OR THE CONTENT OF MY REVIEW!

I've had my ups and downs with the My Heart Belongs... series, and I am happy to say that this book makes it into the "Up" category! This was also my first exposure to this author, and I hope it won't be the last!

I was actually surprised by this book! I thought I wouldn't like it, but I really did! I loved how flawed the characters were, they were so much more realistic to me because of that! I related the most with Millie, who was hard-working and dedicated, as well as loving. I loved watching her heart soften toward the family that stood in the way of her happiness. The faith aspect in this story was actually really well done, woven in with a subtle, and yet realistic touch. This is a story that would go far to help the uncertain among the faith with their struggles!

On the whole, I really enjoyed this story and would definitely read more by this author!

I've heard authors say that some books write themselves. As a reader, I have said that some books read themselves. That's the case with this book. I started reading this book with the intention of just reading a chapter or so to "get into" the story and soon found I was halfway through the book in just one sitting! Warm, realistic characters in a story that was both heartwrenching and heart-stopping made this book easy to read.

While some aspects of the story sounded familiar to other romances I've read the author totally made this story her own. I loved her writing and the way that the shift in the relationship between Millie and Katherine happened in a way that was so subtle that I can't pinpoint the exact spot it took place. It's just so natural and suddenly you realize that things have changed between the two. I also liked the way she kept me wondering exactly what was going to happen. I knew the ending I wanted to the story but she kept me guessing as to whether I was going to get it or not. I loved the complexity of the relationships between the characters. It made the story seem so real. The pace of the story is great and kept me turning pages as quickly as I could.

The author has created some really well-developed characters in this book. Some I liked more than others. Millie, I liked instantly while it took some time to warm up to John and Katherine Drexel. I'm still not sure if I really liked Stephen or not but that's ok. He's not a bad character, just not my favorite.

This is a book that will definitely be added to my keeper shelf. I can easily see myself rereading this book because the story is just so good and the writing is excellent. This is Rebecca Jepson's debut novel so I can't go looking for more to read from her but I will be adding her to my "must-read author" list. I'm hoping there will soon be more to read from her!
