War ganz gut.

You know, I love this series for the characters and their relationships. Stiefvater has some serious mad skill at juggling everyone and damn girl. How do you do that thing? WIth that being said, the plot usually suffers. It sludges along. It's there but it's smudgy and half the time confusing. Well, Blue Lily, Lily Blue actually is the perfect balance of both.

Thank you very much, Stiefvater.

I read this book while waiting. Waiting for work to start. Waiting to finish my break. Waiting for people. Waiting for food, a car wash, christmas, etc. And even as I waited and read this book at a slow pace, it flew by. Every moment, every interaction had purpose and a place to go. For once I felt my pulse race with the anticipation of the plot rather than the anticipation of Blue and Gangsey gettin' close if you know what I mean (nudge nudge wink wink). Everything fit well together and moved at the perfect pace.

I can't believe only one book is left.

Man oh man.

This series just gets better and better. I am so in love with these characters that I devoured this book. Gansey’s quest for Glendower has me hooked to this series and I keep returning to see if all of his hard work will pay off after the toll the summer took on him. Noah’s lovable character is pushed, Ronan’s secret is exposed but he still struggles with his demons, Adam is learning to understand his new bargain and Blue’s friendship with each boy is tested.

This book was the most exciting of the three. The group seems to be getting even closer to Glendower with the search moving underground. There’s a lot more danger, more magic and even more mystery. With one character from the Sargent household missing and a new character joining the eccentric psychics, Blue’s family somehow manages to be an anchor and a good support for her.

Calla and Persephone were always great characters but they have a stronger presence in this book. The Sargent household is undoubtedly eccentric but it’s also not that different from most families. In the end, Blue still has a family to come home to that will do whatever they can to look out for her. The family bond explored in this book was just as great as the bond the friends share.

What has me hooked to this series are these characters. In the first two, I came to love the Aglionby boys and how Blue was able to fit into their lives. This book allows me to connect more with Blue’s extended family and fall even more in love with that house of psychics. The wonderful characters make this series so outstanding to me and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a fantasy read with characters you will fall for.
