couldn't get past the writing style. Felt like reading underedited fanfic by someone trying too hard to establish and assert their writing style with predictable metaphors and uninteresting sentences.

Before I begin…Goodreads PLEASE add the option to rate by .25s or even .5s for the love of all that is holy. Phew, glad I got that off my chest. Anyway, my general thoughts on this book can be summed up in one word: “meh.” As someone who first fell in love with reading through the Percy Jackson books, I am a Greek mythology nerd. One of my dream vacations is to travel to Greece and Rome and see the locations of where these myths and legends may (or may not) have actually occurred. So if you’re anything like me, this book definitely scratches that Greek mythology itch. However, I found the plot to be a bit dry and unexciting. It was slightly entertaining, but nothing that made me beg for more.

I should’ve just DNF’d this, but it’s really that the style didn’t vibe for me. It was slow and I just could never quite tell where we were going and felt like the synopsis didn’t tell me just how much we were going to cover. Some of this is due to my lack of knowledge of this specific chunk of Greek mythology, but like this was a ride I don’t think I would’ve signed up for had I known it would cover Ariadne’s entire life.
Graphic: Animal cruelty and Animal death
Moderate: Child abuse, Child death, Infidelity, Rape, Sexual assault, Suicidal thoughts, Suicide, Blood, Grief, Pregnancy, and Abandonment
