I had forgotten that I read this book earlier this year until I saw it that I was being offered for free again on BookBub.... and basically that's why I read it earlier - it was free. Still, not bad. Action-packed mystery with a dose of spooky. Oh and even a bit of romance. Plus there was a dog! Yeah, all of that for free.
Yes, there were some typos and editing errors, but all in all a fun, worthwhile read for the money.

Had me hooked from the beginning and second-guessing all the way through
The story of a family that hikes deep into the mountains of Montana so that Mom can bury her ghosts. Not far into the book the 10-year-old daughter disappears. Is she lost? Is she dead? Was she abducted? The storytelling is gripping, so much so that even though the author tells you the story from different sides, you will still second-guess your conclusions. This was a great read, and I will be looking for more of Rick Mofina's books!

It sounded so promising and intriguing. A fine start... and then the story lost control and momentum. Then they lost my interest. 70% of the way through and I just can't take anymore of this author's ponderous writing.

Just okay--lots of typos and editing mistakes. And too many characters to try to keep track of. Not the best use of my reading time.
