Please dear author! Don't ever write any book again.

A book which has the evil guy named Nero and a character called fisherman (seriously that is his name) and characters just appear out of nowhere and tell you they are on your side and you trust them with your life.

In all honesty I have read better fanfiction then this book. The story could have been really good but the lack of originality in the name of characters, and their backstories and maintainin the continuity is really important.

The author seems like she didn't even read any books because if she had then she would have had at least an idea on how to write a book.

To the very end I had no idea which character was on which side and she just introduced characters only to have them killed five minutes later.

So I was hoping this book series would get better, the book world would be better explained, and I would bond with more of the characters.... This didn’t happen and I am actually quite angry at what did occur. I mean what the actual heck? I’m actually angry enough to spit. I feel like the author just abandoned Rhee, her main character, and replaced her with her sister and I just can’t handle it.

Kara is my least favorite character. She is a coward, a brat, and probably the worst sister ever. I don’t care about her in the least or her stupid relationship with Aly. Her point of view was a VERY unwelcome addition to the sequel for me and I don’t care how petty this makes me. I already bonded with Rhee, I felt like I was cheating on her when I was reading Kara’s chapters. I felt like Rhee was honestly jipped in all ways possible and I AM NOT OKAY!!!!

Rhee did EVERYTHING she could and I just felt like everyone and everything was against her. It was almost like she was the anti-hero and she didn’t do anything wrong. It all just made me so angry and this book and its author killed all my hopes and dreams for the series. That epilogue was honestly a joke and I would rather block it out.

Overall, this book was not AT ALL what I wanted and I don’t understand why the author did this to me....

A dramatic fight for an interplanetary empire, led by two sisters (who haven't met in years) and their band of new friends and allies.

Well-structured cultures for non-human creatures in the empire. Even the droids get back story!
Science both recognizable and novel.
Subtext on diversity woven throughout, reflecting real-world problems in a science fiction setting.

My major criticism is the way time passes without clear indication; this led to a bit of disorientation. However, it was probably necessary to avoid chapters full of "and then we drifted through space for several days."

Altogether a great sequel to continue and wrap up the story started in Empress of a Thousand Skies!

Rebecca Soler really brings the story to life when she narrates. This book was just as amazing as the first. I like the direction the story took and I like how it concluded. I was definitely satisfied with this story, however, I wish I was still in the world Rhoda Belleza created. Definitely will forever be one of my favorites.
