I'm sad and a little bit disappointed

Trope brother's best friend.
I hate to give bad reviews, because who am I to judge the project of an author who has gone to the trouble of writing a book? Also everyone has different tastes.

For me, this book came very close to being a DFN . I worked hard to complete it, hoping to find a surge of hope.

This book is a slow burn. And a quick, rushed ending. The chemistry between the characters is still there, but it takes too long to grow between them. Way too much mundane stuff at the beginning of the book.
We know the brother, Leo, wouldn't approve of a relationship between them, but the author doesn't really reveal his reaction other than a WHAT?!
The ending is rushed, I would have preferred the author to speed up the beginning of the book to develop the end of it. A romantic epilogue.

All in all, the story makes sense, the writing style is interesting, if you like a slow-burn, with mundane stuff and brother's best friend on top of everything, this book is for you.

Shawn's long time crush on Cass was really sweet and cute. Cass being a straight male took being attracted to Shawn very well. He was a very go with the flow guy and being attracted to Shawn was an easy transition for him. Shawn's love of astronomy flowed well into Cass' love of drumming when they mixed the two for a sweet happily ever after.

This was a very sweet romance by a new to me author. It was more of a slow burn, and it fit the MCs perfectly. I love how they each learned what was important to themselves and how to merge that with each other. I will definitely be reading more books by this author.

I received an advanced copy and voluntarily gave my honest review.

This was a sweet read, not too angsty, about Shawn, who graduated with his degree in astronomy and who wants to take the summer off and work on his passion project, a book. What he doesn't know is that his older brother had hired his best friend, Cass, to remodel the art studio behind the house where both of the men will be staying. This was a cute read, especially how Cass discovers his attractions to Shawn from what he remembers from their past and the man he's grown up to be. A good read!

Easy read

New to me author, I’ll definitely check out more of their works. This was a sweet story. I really liked both characters and that they developed their love over time. No angst and the epilogue was great.

Just what I needed. The sex is hot but the fluff is perfect

Cute, but on the easy and stickily sweet side. It could have used some friction to stir things up. Cass's developing sexuality wasn't even a thing to think about apparently, which in essence is a good thing, but it felt like it was overlooked completely here and I didn't really get a feel for who these characters were exactly aside from their astronomy and drumming careers. Shawn in particular felt underdeveloped. I did like the way they explored their sex life together and how aside from one blip they communicated their feelings quite openly. So, does Leo get a book?
