This book was powerful and heavy but so good. Being from Denver, specifically the literal areas in this book, it was great to see a story of multiple generations and how Indigenous Chicano people navigated Denver’s racist KKK past. It is a heartbreaking but also beautiful story. Luz especially.

One I probably would have appreciated more in print. It jumps around a lot with different characters in different time periods, and I find it hard to keep track of that via audio, butttt I wanted to try this author’s work and I couldn’t resist the Libro ALC!
