First, I want to say I am so glad we got more POV from Leo (and/or Nic). I needed to know what was going on inside their heads. Second, I am so glad Valerie grew up and became tougher. I had a feeling she would, I understand she was young and extremely naïve in book 1, but it was too much. She was A LOT better in book 2.  Story ended well, it is a HEA, she only ends up with one of the two love interest, revenge and betrayal occur, dark and triggering content, very spicy.

I do have a lot of questions though like: what the heck was going on with Laura and Nic.. am I going to get a book about them...?
Also, I am kind of shipping Dom with Lea's right hand man, Alessio, are we going to get a book about them as well? I want good things to happen to Dom, she deserves it.

*Reminder: You HAVE to read book 1 - Lessons In Revenge - before you read book 2 - Stories of Betrayal.*

This was a great ending to this duet!!

Val came into herself and was one bad ass bitch! She didn’t let what Leo and Nic did to completely destroy her. She built herself into the person she needed to be to move forward and get her revenge. The lady in red was her inspiration.

“The vision of the woman in the red dress felt too real, almost as if I could see her in front of me, staring into my eyes….”

Leo still under his brothers Nic control, is shocked to Val back in NY. He vows to get her to understand what happened. He is determined to make her his again.

“I would have stayed to look you in the eye, to find out the truth. You left with assumptions instead of facts.”

The chemistry was so good between Leo and Val. I loved the direction this went. I can’t wait for the next book.

This is book 2 in The Vengeance Duet and is a fitting conclusion to the cliffhanger we were left with at the end of Lessons in Revenge.

In Stories of Betrayal, I enjoyed seeing more of the side characters who were given larger roles and more personality.

I enjoyed Val and Leo's evolving relationship and the spice was good.

There were a few plot points that left me scathing my head,  but my feeling was that they may have been leading up to another book series.

Overtake,  this is a "fun" dark mafia romance with an interesting plot and good spice.  Read both in this series and you won't be disappointed.

I don't know where to start or how to say it all without giving away spoilers. And the playlist is so good and powerful! I listened to it while reading! And Karma, the fury cat!
