the beginning story as a story amazing, the ending/twist and i didn't expect it at all from the great reviews out there... i didn't like the implications from the conversation at all between the two parents.

This was a story I was questioning as I was reading it and it manages to all come together within just 3 pages, it's a great story and interesting way to tell it! Read this book!

This was foul. Autism is NOT A PLOT TWIST. The fact that this ableist fuckery got published is horrifying. Read something by an actually autistic author instead.

Yeah I was enjoying this until I got to the “plot twist” at the end. Autistic reviewers have said plenty and their reviews are the ones you should be reading.

The two stars are only for the artwork.

This is a fun adventure story with very light-weight characters that takes a turn in the final pages. I think it needed to be a lot longer to counterbalance what feels like an ablest ending. That the author wrote this for his autistic daughter is pretty clear. Even with the ending, this story is filled with love and hope for the protagonist to achieve what she wants to achieve. I feel like, had it been longer, more exploration could have been given to Adora's internal self and made the reveal a little more palatable.
