A visit back to the Hollows and all your favorite friends. Really enjoyed this one, though once or twice Rachel going off half cocked or not talking to people had me asking "has she learned nothing in 14 books... is there no character growth?" But those were small points and she did show some over all maturity. Overall I really enjoyed reading this. Seeing how she and Trent are making things work and how they(and the Elves and Demons) are living in the world with the fallout from the events from the last book (not the one with Trent's mom).

Okay I did not want to read this book. This book series ended in 2014. I read all 13 books. I was invested in the series and then I was happy when it ended. I like it when things end and don't drag on and on too long. But then...after so many years I find out the series was back. And I was like - nope, nope, nope.

But then my SIL was like - no, you're gonna want to read it. And then she BOUGHT it for me. So here I am, dragged back into this series. And...pretty happily so after reading it.

At first I thought - shoot, I need to re-read because the prologue didn't really help and I was reading thinking, I don't remember. I don't remember! But it came back and as I kept reading I just felt immersed in the world again.

And so I liked it! And I'm ready to just roll right into reading #15.

I have missed this series so much and was so pleased when I found out we would be getting another taste of our witch/demon family. If you are a follower of this series and are debating on getting hooked in again for however long it lasts, just do it...so worth it!

Return to the Hollows

Kim has done an outstanding job bring us back home to Rachel and the hollows. This feels like a new beginning and I loved every moment of it. If you havnt had a chance to read this series and love Urban Fantasy or Alt-history then please give the Hollows a read.

I can't believe I'm giving a book in this series 3 stars?! I absolutely love this series, it remains my all-time favorite series. I was thrilled when I saw Rachel & Co were coming back. But...

It felt like it lost its sparkle. Ivy is getting written out with her own HEA, which good for her but her chemistry with Rach just feels like a break up. Al - my favorite demon EVER - spent so much of the book in seclusion while a new demon was introduced and he did NOTHING for me whatsoever lol. And I spent most of the book worrying about Jenks. He's now the oldest pixie alive and even he feels old. I think I screwed myself over because I found a mix CD from back in the day (2013) and the characters just feel like a far cry from then. And yes, I understand that they've grown and developed but it feels like they are ready to move on. And maybe I should too before Ms. Harrison succeeds in ripping my heart out. I love them all too much!

I really liked the plot of this book but Rachel’s downer mind set bugged me. Not sure what was going on there.
