this book is amazing, it had you wrapped up in this cozy little world that was heartbreaking, breathtaking and comforting all at the same time. i dont think i was ever once bored with this book, and i always was having real life-real time reactions (sorry to the people on the airplane!!)

this book left me arguably more distraught and sad then a little life. like please the ending?? miss. rio im going to need some closure right now.

anywhoo all of you who are considering reading this book, get ur ass up, read it illegally for all i care (actually don't, this is a book you should spend your money on), just read the damn book please. it took my breath away.

This book gets you very invested but keeps you questioning why they didnt just go to the police in the first place smh. Oliver is a smol boy who is also an idiot. Also i kinda feel i would understand this book more if i had read the complete works of Shakespeare first. But overall good.

Oh my gosh I am not okay. That ending?? How do I review this without spoilers?

It’s kinda obvious from early on who did it, but it took me a bit to understand why Oliver was the one in jail.

There were many many parts where I didn’t understand what was going on or why it was pertinent to the story. But even when I didn’t really understand what was happening, I was still on the edge of my seat. I did end up skimming a lot of the Shakespeare lines. It took awhile to get into and to understand who was who, I don’t love when books introduce more than like 3 people at a time. But after awhile you learn about the characters and start caring about them.

I’m choosing to have hope based on the ending. I’m not sure what his motivation would be to do such a thing but I will let the romantic in me believe that not all is lost.

One pet peeve: there were so many pages without paragraph breaks. Just a wall of text.

I was willing to take 1⭐ out of the score for the excessive use of Shakespeare but then I started thinking if that was a shortcoming of the book or a shortcoming of myself

Not to be melodramatic, but I'm not sure I'm ever going to recover. If you're like me and like dark academia, codependent queer relationships, murder mystery, emotional pain, and insane levels of pining, this book is for you.

I did not expect to love this as much as I did, I don't think I'm ever going to stop thinking about the ending.
