This is definitely a three stars book. I am loving this series so far, but this one for me was just.. meh. It felt like a retelling of the movie, but with a little twist, which was kinda disappointing. I expected not only more fleshed out characters, but just more in general. I liked it, but I didn't LOVE it. The book was very much a "tell it like it is" sort of book. No descriptions, no details, just.. telling the story, and while that can be nice, those types of books are usually balanced out by character interactions/ character development. If that makes sense. I wish this book had more character development, specifically for Elsa! I was so excited to read this one, because I loved Frozen when it came out, and this seemed like an exciting and new tale. But it wasn't. Scenes from the movie were COMPLETELY copied, and so were lines, to the point where it took me out of the story. The concept is original, but not the execution. Overall, it was an okay book that could've done WAY better. More time with Elsa, and her character, show why she falls for Hans, show her loneliness, etc. I just didn't like how this book did so much TELLING, versus showing. It's marketed as YA, but honestly, sometimes it felt like the book was just treating me like a child? Which I know is weird, but that's how it felt. So yeah, definitely could've been better with the characters and creativity, I don't want to read the Frozen movie again, I want to experience the stories and characters in a new way, sometimes this book does that, but most of the time, it was just a replay of the frozen movie.

This was so fun. Definitely my favorite twisted tale I’ve read so far. I love how it was different but similar to the movie and all the characters were still so loveable and it was just really cute and fun to read. It made me even sadder about their parents deaths though. I loved this extra peek into the world of frozen and how the story could’ve been different.

Not a bad read, but VERY similar to the movie. I’ve only read one other twisted tale (beauty and the beast) and I was hoping this one would be more different from the movie. I do like the parts that were changed. Not as AU as I wanted, but still good.

This had the chance to be good, but it felt like it took an already iffy plot (I love Frozen, but somethings in it make me go "uh oh, giant plot hole!") and made it even more ridiculous.

Read this with my daughter and I think I was more interested than she was and she's an avid frozen fan! Loved this version compared to the films ❤️

easy, fun read. VERY similar to movie - that’s my only complaint! I loved seeing different aspects of Elsa and Anna’s personalities though!
