I really loved this book - so many good things wrapped up in it!! Magical beasts, twists and turns, morally grey characters!! This is definitely a slow burn romance - heavy on the world building & character building, and I’m assuming there will be more romance in book two!

Leaves on a bit of a cliffhanger… I need book two asap!!

Read more like a middle grade book, with adult language & topics.

Overall, really cozy, fun read<3 slow at the beginning but it picks up!!

this respectfully reads like a poorly edited YA fanfic. the dialogue is cringe, the main character seems forced quirky. the villain guy is so obviously “not fr fr villain truly just a sweetheart 🥺” and i can’t find a way to get into it.

Despite being marketed as an adult fantasy, this book felt like YA. Furthermore, the quality of writing was mediocre at best. This book feels like the author doesn’t trust their readers to understand anything without it being shoved down their throat. The romance was incredibly forced and entirely unrealistic.
