Sehr empfehlenswert.

My first book by Brittainy C. Cherry, definitely not my last. Overall, it was a good read with likeable characters and deep topics, but in my opinion, it was lacking some emotional destruction and some ACTION!

What I liked:
- most of the characters
- the build-up of the story (especially the connection between the death of Eleanor's mum to Grey (not gonna say anything else because I don't want to spoil it))
- the Harry Potter references
- discussion of grief

What I disliked:
- way too cheesy
- first part was kinda wattpad-like and it was also kinda instalovey which I hate
- the children were NOT acting like children but rather hobby philosophers (sometimes, I thought to myself "NO CHILD THAT AGE WOULD SAY SOMETHING LIKE THAT")
- Grey "melted" too easily in the second part of the book (it didn't take that long for Eleanor to get to him emotionally, if you know what I mean)
- in general, everything was too easy, it was lacking some more complications (like with the parents of a specific person who shall not be named due to spoiler-reasons or the whole thing with Grey's grief, he just came over it too easily)
- the ending was rushed, unrealistic and, again, way too cheesy

All in all good read, could have been more realistic though.

ATTENTION! I have an announcement to make: I just read the book that made me cry the most in my life, but also my favorite contemporary novel. WHAT A WONDERFUL BOOK!! I say that, me, the heart-of-stone Isadora, who complains that no contemporary cliché novel is good enough and that only the classics are really good. Headsflash: this is book surpress my expectations! This book is as good as many of the classics I've read. It was everything I needed and more. I think I liked it a lot too because I'm not the biggest fan of books that only have rainbows and unicorns. My favorite books are full of tragedies and real situations. This author and her writing are BRILLIANT. This one made me cry, laugh, mourn, fall in love, and especially feel hopeful. AND WHAT A PERFECT PROTAGONIST THAT GREY, huh? Wow, it was a long time since I fell in love with a fictional character like that. This book is for those with a strong heart. READ, READ, READ, READ!!!

~REVIEW🖋~
The Quick and Dirty:  Ellie and Grey meet in high school.  She's a bookworm and he's Mr. Popular but they bond over Harry Potter and kung-fu movies... and loss. Grey helps Ellie through a very difficult time in her life and while they remain close until right after graduation they eventually drift apart. Years later fate brings them back together and now it's Ellie's turn help keep Grey from drowning in grief.

Do you have tissues? No? Go get some before reading this book. ALL. THE. FEELS. I held it together even though I felt my eyes water in the first quarter of the book... by the last quarter I was openly sobbing. It's a story about devastating loss and being so shattered that happiness seems like a pipe dream.  It's also a story about redemption. One about patience, forgiveness and the power of unconditional love.

Brittainy Cherry is one of those authors who make you FEEL things. I've read all of Brittainy's books and without exception, when I've turned the last page, I need to take a minute to recenter my emotions. She shatters your heart and puts you back together better than before. I know I'm totally fan girling over here but she's just THAT good. I love each book she writes more than the last.

Thank you for sharing your craft with us readers @bcherryauthor
