Better than the last volume but not as good as the first two. It's still keeps the formula of a good Kase-san volume though.

Art: The art is great as always, very expressive and cute.

Character: I like how both Kase and Yamada have their own little arcs, and have a bit more to their personality than the romance aspect.

Story: School festival! Always a treat to read in manga. The school festival feels more of a backdrop and to reintroduce Inoue-senpai. I wasn't to fond of that side plot at first but they do resolve it well at the end.
There's some good little themes, nothing too stellar, but still very nice, adds some substance. Yamada doubts herself and compares herself to others, but here is finally proud of herself.
I like how Kase and Yamada's hobbies are tied into the story. There are too many romances where the special interest can be removed or the characters only consist of romance traits.

Nothing too special this volume, but still special enough to be a good Kase-san volume. It's sweet, cute, with a healthy bit of drama.

Updated reread on 6/5/2020:

Dropped from 4 to 3 stars.

I'm starting to realize my problem with this series is that I like certain parts of each volume, but not the whole volume. I liked the crepe stand bit and the final chapter, but I didn't like the girl drama in between. It's frustrating because when this series is good it's a fun, light read, but when it's below average I ended up skipping chapters to get to the parts I like. If it were one or two volumes, this wouldn't be a problem, but so far it's been EVERY VOLUME. This isn't a bad series, but I'm not as invested in it as I used to be.

Original review posted on 2/19/19:

While I have to say I'm not totally down with the girl drama that occurred in this volume, what came from it is more than worth it. Inoue started out as an overbearing potential past lover character, but she's really just protective of Kase and even apologizes to Yamada for being so harsh. I like how Kase and Yamada finally addressed their issues to each other, it seemed a little late but better late than never, right? I loved seeing Yamada stand up and become more assertive and I loved seeing Kase protect Yamada from those creepy guys. I'll admit, I was worried when Kase told Yamada not to wear the apron, but after she stopped those guys, I understood her reasoning and it didn't feel forced.

Maid subplots are already horrible you don't need to make them even worse by one MC being a controlling gf and not letting the other wear a maid outfit. Also jealousy is not cute like rip to y'all but I'm different

Whew, it is a bit frustrating that Yamada has a hard time being direct and honest with Kase. I hope she can practice this more in future volumes!
