I didn't like most of the characters, so that made it harder to read the book. I did enjoy seeing some events from the perspective of multiple characters. It's mostly about the internal life of these characters; there isn't much that happens in the book.

This is exactly what I needed after reading When Katie Met Cassidy. Korneliussen managed to write a powerful story about discovering one's sexuality, and the complicated intertwinings of people in the same queer community all in such a short novel centered on one night. I sped through it and almost missed my bus stop (that's how you know it's really good).

If this was a TikTok sound, it would be the "This is a work of art" (with WKMC as the "this is bullsh*t") as the comparison between two books that talk about queer people discovering their sexuality.

I didn't love the way the trans character was written, and a lot of discussions of sexuality and gender felt very cis-centric and surface level, but it was still an interesting read.
