Rereading my childhood favorites.
I love a good training arc.
The pace of this one is faster, and the majority of it is character development and Kel working hard and getting stronger, with major and minor incidents along the way.
Beyond the training, she also grows up a bit and gets her first crush. Personally a huge fan that things don’t go further than that haha, but it’s cute.

I adore this book. Kel's book are my favorite in the Tortallverse. The pace is fast and feels a bit lopsided considering this book covers three years, and the third is condensed into a single chapter. Still very enjoyable.
I'm reading the ebook omnibus version this time around and it's definitely got some formatting flaws that aren't present in the physical. A few typos and the scene breaks are nonexistent. They were present in First Test but it seems like they're more prevalent in Page.

More enjoyable wholesomeness - the final three years of Kel's page training, fighting against injustice of various kinds the whole way. I do not like that Kel has just turned 12 and is struggling with romantic feelings for Neal, who is 18. It doesn't go anywhere - she's far too busy, for one thing - but it's still... ugh.
