Emily Henry can do no wrong when it comes to creating angst you can root for. Harriet and Wyn were perfectly matched when it came to that.

I will say, having read her other works, this felt a bit cheesier, a little more convoluted because of the 4-minute aspect. It felt a little more high school.

That doesn’t mean I didn’t enjoy it! I loved the Maine setting.

I also really liked her delving into the role parents play in how people love.

this was really cute! pretty repetitive internal dialogue was my main problem. The couple’s main dilemma was mainly miscommunication, which is also a trope I hate, so it was hard to not get super angry at them and to know that if everyone would have just sat down and talked the whole thing could have been avoided. I liked the narrator though, and the ending was sweet, lots of chemistry between the two of them. I would recommend, but I don’t think it’s Emily Henry’s best

All I can say is that this book had my emotions on xgames mode. The constant up and down had me in DISTRESS (but in a “can’t wait to see what happens next” kind of way). I loved the friendships/found family aspect of this book. Specifically the female friendships, as their love for one another is so thoughtful and intentional. I also LOVE Harriet & Wyn’s love. It is so pure and whole.
And idc what anyone says, if it didn’t end the way it did, I probably would’ve committed arson.
I love the depth of Emily Henry’s writing in that she delves into deeper, heavier topics and themes like family trauma and anxieties and cracks in relationships. It’s relatable and rocky and that’s what makes it enjoyable for me. Overall, I loved this book. It was wholesome and BOY was it a heartbreaker.

I was intrigued by the premise but the characters were insufferable, just immature drama queens who suffer in silence needlessly because they can't speak up. I think it's time for me to abandon this author, nothing she wrote appealed to me, so I think it's unlikely this will change.
