Once again, Jodi picoult takes a complex, complicated emotional subject and places it in the hearts and minds of relatable characters so that the reader can test their own feelings and judgements.   She goes deep into the complex issues of mothering, friendship and marriage. Could not put it down!

It has been a hot minute since I've read a Jodi Picoult book but if your familiar with her writing then you know that this book was an emotional rollercoaster of epic proportions....

I found this story captivating and engrossing but if I'm honest this ending left me wanting. I had more questions then answers.

Normally Jodi is a top ranking author for me. But that ending left me wanting too much so I'm giving it 3 stars

Spoiler I wish we'd gotten a little more information about what happened to the family after Willow died. Just one chapter similar to how she ended My Sister's Keeper instead it just ends and we have no idea how any of them moved on

I really enjoyed learning about Osteogenesis Imperfecta while reading this book. I think the author had a lot of great information in it that actually helped to inform a college project I’m working on. Despite that, this book was SLOOOOOWWW. At one point, I wanted to finish the book just so that I didn’t have to feel so frustrated with the pace of the book and it’s characters. I found many of the characters absolutely infuriating! The ending was not what I expected - but definitely in a bad way! It kind of makes you feel like reading the book was a waste of time! This book is a great resource if you want to learn more about Osteogenesis Imperfecta, Eating Disorders, or the Wrongful Birth legal conversation.

Another well-written book by Picoult, with great depth of characters. However, without giving away any spoilers, I'll just say I'd have liked it better with a different ending.

I'll start with the positives. I could not put this down, because as usual Picoult's pacing is great. Her writing(also as usual) is amazing. There was one scene where she described Charlotte baking, kind of lost in her own little world and I just thought: wow. I loved Amelia, and felt for her immensely, which is why I hated her parents even more than I already did (more on that in a sec). I also loved how Willow was so smart and full of useless trivia.

I love books where I learn something new, the kind of book that makes me go on Wikipedia and look a bunch of stuff up after I'm finished. Handle with Care taught me a lot about Osteogenesis Imperfecta, or “brittle bone disease.” Picoult really puts a lot of research into her novels, and it shows. This book is very character driven. And I hated most of them. To describe them, I guess the rest of this review can be seen as spoiler-ish but not really going to ruin anything for you.

Sean- so hell bent on being “the good guy” that I don't think he was a good guy at all. Stop whining already and be there for your family.

Charlotte- pay attention to your OTHER daughter for heaven's sake! And I honestly don't think the money is worth all the ruined relationships.

The side plot with the lawyer was unnecessary. The ending “twist” was also really random , unnecessary, and not very believable. Just a thrown in, tacked on at the last second kind of ending. The rest of the characters I don't feel like mentioning because I didn't really care about them. Piper, yeah I felt bad for her. Until another certain unnecessary plot point I will not mention here, then I hated her as well.

Overall, if you want to read a Jodi Picoult book, go for My Sister's Keeper, Nineteen Minutes, or Plain Truth. (My faves). This one goes in the pile with The Tenth Circle and Change of Heart for me.

Yet another amazing Jodi book!!! This one was absolutely fantastic. I loved reading about Willow and her families journey through a wrongful birth lawsuit. It was extremely captivating and I had a lot of trouble putting it down. I really enjoyed all the different perspectives the story was told by, however, I wish we could have heard more from Willow. This is definitely a book I'd be interested in purchasing and reading over and over again!

My most favourite co-worker and I were talking the other day about people we knew who had diseases that were rare. She recommended this novel, and let me borrow her copy the following day. This is my first Jodi Picoult novel, and I really enjoyed it. I liked that this entire plot was about a medical condition that I had heard about but didn't know too much about it. I loved that each chapter focused on one person and their perspective. I thought there was a lot that could have been cut out of this story but it was very engrossing to read. There were a few times that I started to cry due to the nature of the entire story. There is a lot going on within these pages. I would absolutely read something else by this author. This novel definitely makes you appreciate your family, and the wonderful life that you have. We all have our issues and struggles but I'm very fortunate to have the life that I have. Would read this novel again....and also really enjoyed the recipes and how those were tied to the overall story as well.
