Atmospheric, highly unusual. Great narration that added to the mood.

Major Coraline vibes in this book, and even though I'm not a huge fan of Coraline, this book was very interesting.

I cried at the end, even though I knew Matthew was kind of the character bound to die at some point, it got me when his uncle was there with him in his last moments, and when Olivia sat at the piano after Matthews death when Matthew's ghoul sat next to her at the piano bench.

I was slightly confused with one thing though, maybe I just missed a part but I thought Olivia was the only one to see the ghouls considering Matthew was also a Prior and did not see them, but at the end of the book when Olivia summoned the ghouls to help her put Death behind the wall, it had said "Hannah and Edgar watch, eyes wide-" like they had seen them. But besides that it was a very captivating read, I loved the main character and am really love Schwab's writing :)

Schwab continues to impress me book after book. I have enjoyed everything she’s written and this is no different. I will definitely be purchasing this book (read this one via library) to add to my collection.

Listened to the audiobook. When the pieces started to connect, it felt so rewarding and enjoyable. I'm left with a lot of questions but I think that's normal with a good story. I'd say there's more story to be told about Gallant.

I genuinely enjoyed this book and it’s mystery’s. Schwab has a beautiful way with words and saying things that you’ve never heard but feel deep within your core

~ all vibes ~

…no plot?
