I know she already has 7 boyfriends but like i wouldn’t mind her adding Dimitri to the gang.
I can’t decide if I like the pregnancy trope here or not…. It’s so random I had to hold need to roll my eyes hard enough for it to pop out of my head.

DNF. Don’t read on if you don’t want spoilers . . .
The editing and character depth improved over the series which I was glad of. The story had potential and I was actually beginning to enjoy it more. Unfortunately we hit a big no no for me.
Pregnancy.
I hate the pregnancy trope. It’s a personal preference not a trigger but I really struggle to enjoy books where the mfc is pregnant (unless it’s an epilogue, I don’t mind books ending this way)
Bringing pregnancy into the series with one and a half books remaining was the end for me.
I’m kind of sad because I like the mmc’s and wanted to continue reading their journeys, especially Matty. I was looking forward to learning if and how he could overcome his fear of touch.
Such a shame for me but if pregnancy isn’t an issue for you, I definitely felt the books had improved so keep reading!

It really takes a lot for me to DNF a book, but I just did it at 56%. Honestly none of the 3 books I read were all that great. The writing was extremely amateur. It was honestly terribly cringy, but honestly this was somehow got a lot worse. I didn’t even think that was possible.
It felt to me like the author set down to write a fantasy, but somehow along the way got lost in her own head. The “bad guy” is suddenly not so bad, and honestly nothing happens in these books. For how long they are literally nothing happens. Honestly I don’t even know what else to say other than please don’t waste your time reading this series. It’s not worth it.

Did the authors forget the characters?
Haliee was so whiny and hysterical unless she was screwing one or more of the guys.
Dimitri was... well I don't even know what that turn was other than disappointing.
The book fell flat for me but I pushed through to only then be hit with another content warning. Which should have been at the front of the book.
I had to DNF at that point because it's not something I can read especially with an 18 year old FMC. If the warning had been at the start with the others I wouldn't have read the book at all.

Devotion is the third installment within The Deadly Seven I honestly thought that this was going to be the last book in the series, but it isn't. So, yeah, pleasantly surprised but a little annoyed with the cliffhanger I just read. Also, I might be in a weird mood, but I wasn't completely in love with this one.
We still get the lovely drama and romance that was easy to digest. Some of what happened was a teeny tiny bit predictable. For example, Hailee getting pregnant was way too easy to see coming. With all the unprotected sex she was having it was bound to happen. Heck, I'm surprised it didn't happen back in the first book. Other than that, the mystery around Dimitri is starting to dull for me.
In the end, she's kidnapped and I'm just wondering what the heck is going to happen next. Hopefully things get better and a bit more exciting in the next book.
