This was a book (trilogy) that I discovered free on the Kindle after I had already downloaded, but not started, Broadcast 1. As it was the first official book in the series I decided to give it a go and see what the series had to offer. I read the whole trilogy in just a few days as I was hooked!

I'm diving straight into the next book and can see myself completing the whole series quite quickly. Though I will make a call later on; I can see this becoming a favourite!

Pretty good, Star-Trek-like space-navy tale. Well-realized universe. Likeable characters. My only complaint is that nothing ever goes seriously wrong for this crew. Every conflict is resolved with resounding success and little if any collateral damage. As a result, the story lacks tension.

And the technology is a bit too incredibly good, but that may be more a matter of personal taste. I prefer a little more grit in my sci-fi.

Did not finish book. Stopped at 7%.
The first installment of this three-part-story is supposed to be only 110 pages but I felt even in the first 30 pages there was already an excessive amount of telling rather than showing and info dumping. Personally it's not for me. For a 110 page first installment, I'd thought we'd be picking up the pace much quicker. The first chunk with the simulation was actually really good, but straight after we got at least 2 chapters of info dumping about our MC's history and what everything/everyone is.

So, it's been ages since I've read scifi (yes, I watch it all the time, but I haven't read any of it lately). And, B&N has several free eBooks for the nook - this being one of them. This is actually a reprinting of three books in one. We follow a man named Jonas, who is a retired soldier and current data communications clerk, as he hacks into military training simulations with a group of friends and ends up being recruited for a high-level mission. The whole story is a space opera with corporations, colonies and lots and lots of technobabble.
Tons of technobabble. The ship they're on gets retrofitted not once, not twice, but three times with new technology they've 'acquired' on their adventures. Did I mention lots of technobabble? An interesting premise, but I would've liked more character development. I guess sometimes you get what you pay for, eh?

This book was awesome. I stumbled on this through Mobireader and I was really impressed by the novel especially for one of the "independents". It reminded me of a cross between Ender's Game, Star Wars, Star Trek and even Firefly (the TV show). All of the good stuff. The writing is well done, the characters well developed, and the story is very good. This is sci-fi space opera in fine form. The follow on series is excellent as well. highly recommend this to anyone for a light, tasty sci-fi read.

This was a great opening trilogy. It took awhile to get through, but the story was well worth it. There were some parts where the grammar could have been better, but for a free book I can't complain. I can't wait to read the rest of the series :)

This was a free download for my Kindle and turned out to be an enjoyable action packed adventure tale. I will certainly be reading the other titles in the series.
