I was so excited to see Tijan was writing a Paranormal story since I'm a big fan of the genre. Sadly this book just didn't do it for me at all. The heroine was supposed to have all these super powers but was so weak and submissive to her brother turned lover. Yes, you did read that right! Their whole life she thought he was her brother and he's actually her mate. I never felt the connection between her and Kellan. She let him lie to her and she would never stand up to him. Many times she said she would address the situation and she would let it go. For someone so strong she was very weak. The storyline revolved around this final show down with her father and it was such a let down. The only thing that shocked me was the part with the Aunt. That was the only time I had an reaction. This story left me with unanswered question and left me confused. This story had so much promise but just didn't do it for me. I loved Tijans "Fallen Crest Series" so I will continue to read this authors future works.

I first read this book in December of 2014! It was only 18 chapters long at the time and boy were they great chapters. I honestly can't believe I've waited 3 years for this book to come out. It really does feel like yesterday when I first read it and fell absolutely head over heals in love. The whole novel, from start to finish was exquisite! I know I say that about a lot of books but come on, 3 years and it finally came out and all it took were 8 hours to finish it... That's got to speak for itself. Tijan is one of those authors who you know will come out with an amazing story and make you really invested. None of her books should be read lightly, and this one is no exception. Evil was exactly like the title, evil. The word has so much meaning and different variations of it that this book is a cluster ball of it. Tijan actually gives the word a total different shade and viewpoint of what our main protagonist, Shay, and her opposite, Kellan, do. This book was really refreshing and I'm so happy I finally got to finish it!

"Slowly, almost gently, I slid a finger underneath one of his and yanked it backward. Kellan held his breath, but let me hold his finger at bay. He tilted his head and narrowed his eyes. They seemed to sparkle in the moonlight...I smiled, and then I yanked his finger the rest of the way until the bone snapped. Kellan didn’t move, not an inch. When it was done, after a moment of silence, he rasped, “Are you going to break the rest of my fingers?”"

Shay was so fully charged the whole time, we were just waiting at the edge of our seats for the explosion! It was so much fun reading about Shay and what her siblings, Kellan, Vespar and Giuseppe, would do to toy with people. Out of Kellan and Shay, my favourite character had to be Gus. She was so real and funny. She did not give a shit most of the time and I did love her bond with Vespar. I really liked how Tijan chose to focus on what other people do/think/act when the siblings are around. We really get insight on how everyone is nervous around them and the fact that a Braden was never to be crossed. The siblings could do whatever they felt like and the rest of them weren't allowed. Tijan made high school drama so cultivating and dangerous! I loved the instant rivalry between Shay and Vasper and we all knew from the beginning that he would never fully love her.

"Kellan interrupted. “You could’ve stopped him long before I came around the corner. You knew I was coming. Why didn’t you stop him?” “Maybe I wanted to hear his rhetoric on how hot I must be for him.” “Don’t be funny, Shay. You’re not the funny one, remember?” I smirked. “That’s funny. I don’t think that role’s been taken in our family.” Kellan’s hand tightened on my arm. He pulled me closer and bent his head to my ear. “You always wait for me. Why?”"

I loved Kellan's inner struggle with himself and it really showed his deepest and emotionalist side of him whenever he would try to comfort Shay about being 'evil' yet it would stir the inner turmoil he had inside of himself. The characters in general were all so deep thought and you can see the amount of detail Tijan wrote for each of her characters.

"Damien grabbed an apple and paused, shooting her a look. “Don’t start, half child. I can eviscerate you with a thought.”"

Whenever Tijan writes and publishes a new book, I already except it to be a masterpiece. Not one of her novels have cease to disappoint me so I knew it was a safe bet that this wouldn't be any different. I loved this book so much and I'm happy that finally after 3 years, I can now know how Shay and Kellan ended and that I will miss this book so much! The characters are very unforgettable and I am not looking forward to the book mourning period I'm going to have after I post this blogpost.

"“For the record,” Damien said two days later. “I think this is incredibly stupid.” Kellan stood next to me, holding my hand, and grunted. “For the record, no one asked you.”"

I was not expecting this from Tijan!
In a way that I wasn't expecting a paranormal story. I'm not sure why! I think I was expecting something more mafia-esque.

But I'm not going too in depth but I loved the demon/angel Storyline and characters.
Kellan and Shay were brilliant main characters. Kellan playing the stronger, secretive darker role in contrast to Shay who is beginning to question her heritage.

The story revolves around these two - their similarities, their differences, their growth together and their love.

I love how Tijan shows that demons aren't all bad, and angels aren't all good. There's always a grey area that needs to be navigated and most times, with someone at their side.

Great story! Wasn't steamy, but very much a warming, fuzzy love story which I've not read in a long time! Kinda cute!, thanks for a good read!!!

This was my first Tijan book and I want to kick my own arse for not reading her sooner. I don't read a lot of paranormal, but I loved this story! Shay knows she's different, but she doesn't want to be. She wants to be a normal teenager. Her brothers and sister embrace who they are, but she's hiding. Kellan is the sibling in charge. No one in town messes with him, it's just an unspoken rule. When Shay notices changes in herself, she learns more than she ever bargained for. Angels and Demons?! Which one is she? Kellan has always protected Shay. And not just because she was family. There is something stronger between Kellan and Shay. More than just Good vs. Evil. Will Shay finally become who she's meant to be? Will Kellan reveal the secrets he's been keeping? This was a great story! I love the way Tijan writes, and although this was an older work of hers, the writing is still great! She writes strong male and female leads and sucked me in from the very beginning. I wish we were getting more Kellan and Shay!

I tell you what this book had me hooked right away. I wanted to know what the heck was going on!

Tijan has a way of just giving you enough to make you scratch your head and want more. And I couldn’t put this book down. Though I did have to sleep, :( but then I dreamed of Kellan. Hahah.

Kellan is a mysterious fella and you don’t truly understand his intentions until the end. I freaking loved that, because I kept second guessing everything.
I very much liked how different it was from most paranormal books. It really kept me engaged and hungry for more.

Let us talk narration, I am a fan. I think Jorjeana’s voice is perfect for Shay and all the different characters she brought to the book were spot on.

*You don't have to like my review but its 100% my opinion, and I am allowed to have it.*

Definitely different from her other books. It felt really pieced together and not at all like a fluid book. Like someone wrote the chapters separately and then just pushed the book together. I finished it really fast because it was rather short. Ah well.

I've never been a big fan of paranormal books. It's difficult for me to get into them. Not this one though. This one was pretty damn AMAZING!!! The type of paranormal this book has seems to be the only ones I can read in this genre. It doesn't really surprise me how much I loved this because it was by Tijan. She an automatic 1-click author for me since I LOVE her books.

Evil had so many twists and turns that kept me on the edge of my seat. Very much packed with angst and action and HOT chemistry. This was the kind of read that I wanted to devour in one setting and read slowly at the same time to make it last. I couldn't get enough of these characters. And the epilogue!! If you don't read paranormal for whatever reason I HIGHLY recommend that you give this one a go. I don't you'll be disappointed.

Fab read

Really enjoyed reading Shay and Kellen's story, loved all the twists and turns it was an adventure from start to finish. I thought the concept of Demon's and messengers was great and enjoyed all the secondary character's involved. I would have liked a little more action in the loving department between Kellen and Shay but got the impression this book was aimed at a much younger audience than myself so was OK with the veiled references towards any action between are Two young love birds. overall a very enjoyable read.
