The banter 10/10. Ash was suppose to be rude or whatever but he's hilarious. I love that Emma put up with him and she's funny as well.
she didn't forgive her father, as she should....

There were moments where I laughed out loud and there were moments where I had to set the book down to keep from squealing. I found both, Ash and Emma, to be witty and charming. I loved their back-and-forth. I'm beginning to love the tortured-hero trope. This had mad Beauty and the Beast vibes (right down to the dinner on opposite sides of the room) The other Wallflowers made many appearances in this book and although I've only met Penny, I know I already love them all. But my favourite character probably had to be Khan. His love for both Ash and Emma was apparent, moreover, he was hilarious in every scene he was in.

[b:The Duchess Deal|33259027|The Duchess Deal (Girl Meets Duke, #1)|Tessa Dare|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1490030736l/33259027._SY75_.jpg|53979944] was a fun and really light read. The story was entertaining and kind of cute. I really liked the dynamic between the 2 characters. I particularly liked that the female character was the strong one, that she was self-aware of her attitude and desires while the male character was a lot more insecure.
However as much as the the story was cute and the characters enjoyable I still lost interest around the middle. Both the story and the characters were too light. The duchess deal missed some depth and building around the characters. Maybe some more researched background stories would have allow me to keep my interest in the characters throughout the whole book.

Overall [b:The Duchess Deal|33259027|The Duchess Deal (Girl Meets Duke, #1)|Tessa Dare|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1490030736l/33259027._SY75_.jpg|53979944] is a cute romance that would work well if you like light romance.

No angst.  And while HEAs are never in doubt in romances, this felt even less so.  The ending was ridiculously unbelievable, as well.  They got married and quickly fell in love, the end.  While Dar books are often funny, the characters generally feel anachronistic to me, and while their vocab is fine, the dialogue feels that way too.  I am not sure that Dare is the author for me.  Plenty people love her works though!

Pretty average. As with most Tessa Dare, you're trading historical accuracy for laugh out loud moments.

This was just sweet and cute.

The story itself was a little non existent mostly because Ash doesn't interact with anyone AND it had drama just for drama and I do hate that. Emma was fun but had moments where I wanted to shake her because she was smarter than how she was acting.

Overall this book is funnier than I expected which I really enjoyed and I had a fun time reading it. Not one of my favorite books I've ever read but still had a good time.
